On the whole I had a positive experience at the Nuffield but of course nowhere is perfect and I felt certain elements of care were lacking. On multiple occasions items I needed were put out my reach and I really didn’t want to keep ringing the bell which I was told was for emergencies only. Several times my crutches were put out of reach which rendered me immobile. The day of my surgery my meal was put out of reach and my bedside cabinet had been moved so I had no access to my phone, tissues etc. The night of my surgery I requested help to get to the toilet. The nurse said he would wait outside and I should just call him but he left for ten minutes and I struggled to get off the loo and back to bed, almost falling. Everything else was for the most part satisfactory.
The pre and post care was excellent and the aftercare Physio Owen was great and gave me confidence to quicken my physical recovery.
I stayed at the Nuffield Brighton for 2 nights following a hip replacement. Everyone I met and interacted with as part of my pre-op assessment and during my stay could not have been kinder or more professional. I was anxious about the procedure but everyone put me at ease and the level of nursing care was excellent.
Overall an excellent provision of care. It has been 40 years since my last significant surgery and stay in hospital. I was reassured and found the whole experience to be a worthwhile and enjoyable one
Lovely hospital beautiful surroundings great staff from reception pre assessment outpatients housekeeping and nurses on the ward. Looked after me very well great staff .
Thank you .
As a day patient I was expected and taken to the room, met but the ward staff and given clear information. Physio, consultant came. Small mix up with a blood test not being done prior to the day, meaning I missed my slot. Sorted very quickly and in and out in a day.
Excellent, professional staff
Excellent care both pre and post operation. Ward staff were always available, kind and helpful. Physiotherapists were helpful and attentive. Room was clean, food very good. high standard of care.
The Nuffield Hospital staff are excellent very caring and lovely and helpful I was looked after extremely well by all the staff at every stage of the procedure from my arrival to going home. When I went to the operating room I was looked after by a lovely gentleman and was asked if I wanted to watch the operation when I replied No thanks they provided a screen and some music of my choice which made it more relaxing. The operation went very well and then I was taken back to my room and provided with food and coffee of my choice. The hospital is beautifully clean the nurses are very attentive the whole experience was 100%.
Very professional staff and lovely accommodation and location!! food was excellent always flavourful and hot
