Mr Gibbs replaced my right hip in early February. It was bone on bone and so painful. Even sleeping became a struggle. Everything was explained fully.and two hours after the operation I was walking around my room. Only discomfort came from the wound itself which was sore for a few days no pain from the hip at all. After two days at home I could walk around without crutches. Two weeks later I could walk for a good twenty minutes which has built steadily up. Driving was no problem after five weeks. In fact I don’t think about the replacement at all. This operation has changed my life all thanks to Mr Gibbs.

This was the second hip replacement carried out on me by Mr. Gibbs. I specifically requested Mr. Gibbs based on my positive experience during and after the first operation approximately four years ago. I was not disappointed and indeed I have been surprised at how well recovery has progressed, indeed faster than the first time despite being four years older. Aside from Mr. Gibbs undoubted expertise, I found him helpful and willing to take the time to answer my questions or doubts. If I had a third hip, I would have absolutely no hesitation in trying to obtain the services of this surgeon again.

I had a total knee replacement carried out by James Gibbs in late January. He had diagnosed the necessity for this (osteoarthritis) and explained the procedure thoroughly at the initial consultation. He was very clear about how painful it would be for the first few weeks after the operation, but reassuring that it would all be worth it eventually! Mr Gibbs is very professional, yet totally approachable, and always appears to have time to explain things thoroughly and answer any questions. I had inbuilt faith in Mr Gibbs as he had already replaced my hip two years ago. This faith was totally justified - my hip is now great and my new knee is recovering well and getting stronger each day. If, Heaven forbid, I were to need any further similar surgery to other joints, I would, without hesitation return to James Gibbs to carry out the operation.

Dr Gibb was cool as a cucumber, that really helped me relax as I am a full wimp when it comes to anything medical. I had an ACL reconstruction and two meniscus repairs, 11 weeks post Op yesterday - I have full flexibility back in my knee and I am back in gym doing light work & weights. I will start light jogging and cycling in 2 weeks. My knee looks great and it has healed nicely. Dr Gibb was brilliant from first consultation to the follows up post surgery. I highly recommend Dr Gibb.

I had partial knee replacements on both knees in January 2022. My experience from my first consultation to my final review at 6 weeks has been superb. Mr Gibbs was professional, reassuring & informative throughout. I’m delighted to be pain & limp free & am looking forward now to many happy years of walking, cycling etc. I cannot thank him & the whole team enough!
