I had complete confidence in Mr G Spink. He performed my first spinal operation in November 2018, a laminectomy but unfortunately after six amazing weeks of getting my life back to normal the lumber region of my back failed. I was in a great deal of pain, and returned to see the consultant again. This time he explained my options in great detail, with all the positives and negatives. After careful consideration I decided to have a steel rod attached to the damaged area. It is now ten weeks since my operation and I am more than pleased with the result. I have no leg pain when walking. I have no pain whatsoever when sitting. I have slight discomfort in the lower back when walking and standing for too long, But feel this will improve given time and regular moderate activity. The fact that I could walk normally, pain free, a day after the operation was unbelievable. The only downside was the length of the waiting list and my experience in HRI. Mr Spink was very approachable, considerate, extremely polite and I would have no reservations about recommending him to other people.

I would highly recommend Mr George Spink consultant neurosurgeon without reservation. I had emergency back surgery July 2019, on the lower back (S1 L5 area) to relieve pressure on the nerve and to scaffold/support the spine. The results have been excellent. Before the operation Mr Spink's calm professionalism, together with his explanation of the procedure and outcomes was very reassuring at a time when I was worried and in great pain. Mr Spink's post operative care was excellent; he was there when I woke from the surgery, letting me know himself that things had gone well. The following morning he came and explained how the operation had gone in more detail. I'm very happy with the outcome of the surgery, and feel lucky to have been under the care Mr Spink and his excellent team. Also, it shouldn't matter, but if it does; the scar is super neat and barely visible after less than 4 months.

I had spinal surgery in October 2018 Mr Spink was brilliant right from the get go. He explained to me what was going to happen. What I needed done to my spine. What would happen after. I was terrified of having this op but without it I wouldn’t be walking now. I’m so grateful to Mr Spink for doing such a brilliant job on my spine. I owe everything to him for his excellent service and knowledge of what was going on and how to repair it. Thank you so much for making me feel so good a full year later and I’m able to walk freely. Pick the little children up. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Forever grateful

I have recently undergone spinal fusion surgery.Prior to the operation a full explanation was given as to the benefits and possible complications.Mr Spink and his team were excellent.Although I would have reservations about fully recommending Spire Hospital

I cannot praise Mr Spink highly enough in so few words! I was terrified of surgery and worried that my injury could not be fixed. He listened to me and explained very clearly what would happen in a gentle but matter of fact way. He has a very reassuring manner and made me feel like I was in safe hands. I am now 6 weeks post op, (ACDF surgery) and my main symptoms had gone by the time I came round from the anaesthetic & haven’t returned, pain is greatly reduced and manageable and I am preparing to return to work. 100% right decision for me to undergo surgery and so glad I had Mr Spink as my doctor. Would highly recommend.
