I had been having issues with my spine for a number of years and after deciding to go private was referred to Mr Spink. He very quickly arranged for assorted scans, came up with a diagnosis and treatment timetable. Mr Spink at all times was very understanding of my condition, pain and the urgency of treatment. His knowledge is quite clearly extensive and he imparts that knowledge without making you feel like its above your head. I have had 4 surgical procedures carried out by Mr Spink and each one has been explained and the detail gone through to put me at ease. I have experienced issues BUT these were a potential hazard and Mr Spink is working hard to try and make the impact of this as small as possible. Always accessible for consultations and very quick to respond to emails and calls. I would absolutely recommend Mr Spink to anyone needing the treatments he specialises in.

Following an MRI scan which showed prolapsed and bulging discs which were causing severe nerve pain I was placed on an NHS waiting list for surgery to one disc. After discussions with my physio and research on patient choices I asked to be referred to Mr Spink. Although it was a battle it was the best thing I ever did. My first meeting with Mr Spink was via Zoom which worked perfectly, he was very knowledgeable, empathetic and explained everything in detail. Mr Spink kept checking I understood everything and kept asking if I had anything i wanted to ask him which I did and he happily answered. He showed me my MRI scan results on the screen and talked through the areas of concern and my options. I was upset in the consultation and Mr Spink was very caring and didn’t make me feel at all rushed in making any decisions. Mr Spink also wanted to repair all three areas of concern. I decided on surgery which was supported by Mr Spink and I was quickly booked in. As I arrived at the hospital Mr Spink came to see me and again checked how I was, talked me through everything and put me at ease. As I came round from the operation Mr Spink was there with me in recovery and assured me that everything had gone well. Once I was back in my room a couple of hours post op he came to visit me again to see how I was and again assured me that the operation had been successful. I have just had my 6 week follow up call with Mr Spink and as always he was friendly, informative and reassuring, telling me that if I had any concerns in the future to contact his secretary. I would highly recommend Mr Spink, I have complete trust in his expertise and he is very caring. After been told for over a year that my pain would go away on its own and that options are limited it was refreshing and a huge relief for Mr Spink to diagnose and treat my pain.
