After experiencing two separate very painful abdominal attacks which resulted in out-patient visits to Leicester Royal Infirmary A&E Department, I was recommended to have an ultra-sound scan. After the scan, my GP suggested that I may need to have my gallbladder removed as I had several stones. As I am fortunate to have private health care, I took my GP's advice and visited Mr Gavin Robertson for a consultation. He proved to be extremely courteous, efficient, informative and professional. Now two weeks on from the operation, which was performed at The Spire with an overnight stay, I feel fully recovered with no ill effects whatsoever. I would strongly recommend him to anyone for general surgery.

I recently underwent an umbilical hernia repair and gallbladder removal surgery in one operation under Mr Robertson's care at the Nuffield Hospital in Leicester. Mr Robertson was very approachable in consultations, he listened to my questions as a patient, explained things with care and clarity at all times and in a very reassuring manner. I noted in particular that he was able to speak to me "on a level" which was most helpful. The care at Nuffield was exceptional and the environment excellent. At all times Mr Robertson and the Nuffield staff explained my situation, their treatment, and offered assistance. I have recovered from the surgery very well and my further recovery has been straight forward and without incident.

Gavin Robertson performed surgery to remove my gallbladder. At the pre surgery check he also found a hernia which he also rectified at the same time. I found him to be extremely professional in all aspects of his work from the initial consultation, through surgery and the post operative follow ups. Everything was fully explained in terms of the procedure to be carried out and my recovery post op. I also found him to be extremely personable and would recommend him to any family and friends requiring general surgery.

I had a hernia operation in January and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gavin Robertson. Everything happened exactly as he had explained and I am amazed at how quickly I am back to full strength. Full marks to him and the team at the Spire.
