Mr Gavin Robertson

Following a diagnosis of acute cholecystitis and gallstones, I chose Gavin Robertson to perform my laparoscopic cholecystectomy, based on his profile and patient recommendation. I could not recommend Gavin more highly in terms of clinical knowledge, surgical skill and patient support. During the initial consultation, his calm, professional manner eased my anxiety. He listened to my concerns about what would be my first general anaesthetic and reassured me. He explained clearly what the procedure would involve, outlined any possible complications and discussed post-operative pain relief and recovery. I felt extremely well supported throughout and that I was in very safe hands. Gavin visited me before the operation, again in the recovery room and also later in the day. The skill he showed in performing the cholecystectomy, and also the additional unexpected liver biopsy, was exemplary. I could not be more grateful to Gavin and have no hesitation in recommending this highly skilled surgeon.

I recently had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Spire hospital performed by Gavin Robertson. From my first appointment with him I felt at ease. He explains everything clearly, ensures you understand everything and have a very calming nature. On the day of the operation, I was very nervous. He came in and once again put me at ease. I was referred to Mr Robertson after a CT scan (that was looking for cancer) showed multiple umbilical hernias which were suspected of causing collickypain bouts. The consultation was smooth and I was very well informed of next steps in the form of laparoscopic surgery which happened within two weeks. Unfortunately repeated pain afterward the surgery required an ultrasound scan which confirmed that I needed further laproscopic surgery to remove my gallbladder and it's contents! Again the surgery happened within 2 weeks. My pain has now gone completely and I'm very,very grateful to Mr Robertson for his caring and professional manner. I was fully informed and most importantly put at my ease through both procedures. Thank you Mr Robertson.

I had a hernia operation on July 16th this year 2025 at Spire Leicester.The operation went well and very happy with the care I had.I cannot praise Mr Robertson enough,he explained everything in detail before my operation.Afterwards coming to see me afterwards and again explaining what he had done.What a brilliant man and a real gentleman.Thanking him once again.

MR Robertson was great from start to finish. He put me at ease from the first consultation which considering how much anxiety i had was some feat. then on the day of operation he came to me before the op which helped calm me a little .The op went well and he kept my wife informed all the time, and also seen us before i left hospital. then 2 weeks later he checked me over and confirmed i was healing well. He was superb from start to finish and i would recommend him to anyone .

Professional from diagnosis through to aftercare. Extremely efficient and kept me well informed; back on my feet and training for rugby pre season within 3 weeks of surgery. Couldn’t have asked for anymore.

I was extremely happy with options and advice given by Dr Robertson he immediately made me feel comfortable and confident in his knowledge and skills. He was able to be flexible and get me a very quick surgery slot. Everything went smoothly and to plan and I made a full and very quick recovery.

I recently had an umbilical hernia repaired by Mr Robertson. His manner was very professional and reassuring. Pre and post consultations were both informative in a way which was easy to understand. The operation itself was extremely neat and the recovery has been much better than I was expecting.
