After seeing Mr Robertson just before Xmas, I had my hernia operation on 11th January 2013. He explained things very well, was very reassuring, and I felt quite at ease.
The actual operation was at about 7.30pm, it all went very smoothly, and I woke up a couple of hours later. Mr Robertson discharged me the following morning, and I had a review appointment just to check on 8th February.
I was extremely impressed, and happy to give 100% to Mr Robertson - after all the recent bad publicity for the NHS, he (and all his staff at Nuffield) are a real credit to the medical profession.

I was sent to see Mr Robertson after seeing my own GP concerning a painful lump under my armpit. I found Mr Robertson to be very professional and reassuring. My surgery went very well with no after pain at all and only left a very small scar. I would like to say a big thank you to Mr Robertson for his attitude and professionalism towards myself. Also I would like to send my thanks to all the people at the Spire hospital. In my mind you couldn't find better. Again Thank You.

I was seen by Mr Roberston within 10 days of my appointment with my GP and had my hernia operation the following week. Mr Robertson listened carefully to what I had to say and explained both the procedure and after effects very clearly - these were very accurate. The whole experience was extremely positive, thank you.

I am very pleased with the service which I have had from Mr Robertson. He is very professional in his approach to patients and explains what operational procedures he is going to perform. I consider that he has genuine sympathy for the patient which is not always present in members of the medical professoion.

Gavin Robertson is a Consultant Surgeon in Leicester specialising in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, especially surgery for gallstones having performed more than 4500, with no bile duct injuries and hernias;- inguinal, incisional, umbilical and ventral (more than 5000), He is an expert in the investigation and treatment of abdominal pain and the management of liver and pancreas cancers.
He qualified in 1984 in Leicester, trained in centres across the world before becoming a Consultant in 1999. He has specialised in laparoscopic surgery for over 20 years.
