I was referred to Mr Robertson as an NHS patient with gall bladder problems and he explained very clearly that it needed to be removed and what it involved. He then arranged a date for surgery only eight days later which I was very pleased about. My operation went very well and all the staff were very caring and kind including the very helpful catering staff. My aftercare was excellent and Mr Robertson dealt with all my concerns in his usual friendly manner. I was very pleased to have Mr Robertson for my surgeon and am very grateful to him. As far as constructive criticism, the only thing I can find to comment on is the fact that I was the last person on the list to be operated on that day and therefore went without water and food for a lot longer than the people at the beginning of the list. When the lists are known would it not be possible for the later patients to have some water to drink in order to reduce the effects of dehydration.

I recently underwent keyhole surgery for the removal of my gall bladder at the Nuffield hospital. I was very impressed by the hospital, all the staff, & especially Mr Robertson my surgeon, he was superb. My first impression was how fresh & smart he looked and I found him informative, very professional, yet friendly, it was a pleasure to call him "my" surgeon. I had been suffering from this problem for several years & was pleased to be referred to Mr Robertson, who diagnosed my symptoms & subsequently operated successfully. My grateful thanks Mrs Margaret Hames.

Although I was being cared for through the NHS, I was treated like a private patient. All care and treatment received was to a high standard.

I was very anxious prior to my laparoscopic cholecystectomy, however Mr. Robertson was so reassuring and professional and answered all my questions calmly and comprehensively. As an inpatient the whole experience was efficient and well organised. Post operatively I was allowed home that evening. I had very little discomfort and was out and about and completely back to normal within 2 weeks. I would highly recommend Mr. Robertson. He is calm, professional and made me feel very safe.

Mr Robertson did everything in his power to explain the procedure to me, to allay my fears and make the whole process as easy as it could be. He never seemed to be hurried and spoke in language that I could understand. My double hernia operation went without any setback showing his skills as a surgeon and the after care was first class. The repairs healed very quickly and I was immediately back on my feet. Within less than two weeks I was back to living normally. He has a pleasant manner and it was easy to talk to him. I would thoroughly recommend him to anybody.
