Gall bladder removal on Friday 13th June. I can't really offer ideas on care improvement as everything was very professional, all staff listened, were helpful and very caring. Mr Robertson is an immaculate and experienced surgeon with extremely high standards, I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Having recently undergone a double inguinal hernia repair, carried out by Mr Robertson at the Leicester Nuffield Hospital, I have nothing but praise for him and his team. Medical explanations were clearly given and Mr Robertson's friendly and professional manner was very reassuring. The hospital's after-care was excellent and the nurses and other support staff were cheerful and demonstrated a caring attitude, with good humour thrown in for good measure. Full marks to Mr Robertson and all concerned!

My first experience of Mr Robertson was as a family member following a cancer diagnosis within the family. From the outset, Mr Robertson displayed the utmost professionalism, compassion and care and kept everyone fully and truthfully informed.
Shortly following this, it was my great good fortune to be referred to Mr Robertson for an umbilical hernia repair, and laparoscopic gall bladder removal. Again, Mr Robertson ensure that I was fully informed of all relevant aspects of the forthcoming operation, which put me totally at ease.
The operation went very well, and has left me, as promised, with no lasting ill effects, and a return to a totally normal diet. Mr Robertson's work reflects his overall professional approach. I am left with the tidiest of tiny scars, which are rapidly becoming barely noticeable.
I have no hesitation in fully recommending him.

Gavin Robertson is a Consultant Surgeon in Leicester specialising in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, especially surgery for gallstones having performed more than 4500, with no bile duct injuries and hernias;- inguinal, incisional, umbilical and ventral (more than 5000), He is an expert in the investigation and treatment of abdominal pain and the management of liver and pancreas cancers.
He qualified in 1984 in Leicester, trained in centres across the world before becoming a Consultant in 1999. He has specialised in laparoscopic surgery for over 20 years.
