I 100% recommend Mr Garreffa. Not only is he a genius at his work but he is kind and always explains everything. I had a mastectomy and every option was not just given to me but discussed in detail and then reiterated. I felt in great care and he treated me perfectly. I had a skin and nipple saving operation with reconstruction that I had at the same time as the mastectomy. I have had a few issues with chording and mobility but I was quickly referred to the right place. All the findings have always been explained and shown to me. He's very thorough. The results are astonishing and I am delighted. I'm so happy with it. Mr Garreffa has "held my hand" through this horrible time and I couldn't have asked for better. If your reading this, it's a dreadful time for you but you've landed an absolute treasure in Mr Garreffa, he's a really nice easy going man and excellent diligent surgeon.

Mr Garreffa is very personable and yet so thorough and professional. On my first appointment with him he told me that he thought the lump I had discovered looked suspiciously like a breast cancer but he couldn’t say for definite until we got the result. This gave me time to absorb what is quite shocking news for anybody to hear but time then prepared me so that when my diagnosis of breast cancer was made and I was told I would have to have a mastectomy, it didn’t come as such a shock. Every appointment I had with him, he would spend a moment talking about the last thing we’d spoken about and I was amazed that he would remember.This made me feel very comfortable and a ease with him. He was very thorough when discussing all my options and checked regularly for my understanding and listened intently to any of my concerns.The operation took four hours but was a great success and the after care I received was brilliant. After each appointment I would receive a letter confirming everything we had discussed and next steps, this really helped as I could absorb so much more of the information after reading through it again. I cannot thank Mr Garreffa enough for the treatment he has given me, he has made what for some is the worst experience of their lives into a trusting, life saving, constructive achievement for which I will be eternally grateful.

I feel extremely lucky to be a patient of Mr Garreffa. At my first appointment with him when he told me the results of my biopsy, he was calm, patient, explained everything clearly and in detail, listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. As a result, I came away feeling very positive. Prior to my operation when I needed to make a decision about breast conserving surgery, he gave me comprehensive information to enable me to make an informed decision that was the right one for me. I am delighted with the results of the surgery. He is clearly a very talented and skilful surgeon, who is very dedicated and genuinely interested in providing the highest quality of care for his patients. I have seen Mr Garreffa since my surgery and he has provided me with welcome and detailed information about further treatment. Thank you Mr Garreffa.

Originally I was under the care of another consultant at Burton Hospital, however, due to covid isolation she was unable to carry out my surgery as planned. Mr Garreffa offered to complete my surgery as planned, including travelling to Burton Hospital to do so. I feel very lucky to have been transferred to such a brilliant consultant and surgeon. From my very first appointment with him, Mr Garreffa has listened to my wishes, explained every part of my surgery and care and has made me feel completely at ease in his presence. Mr Garreffa has a wonderfully kind and calm nature and is clearly excellent at what he does. Whilst in hospital a nurse informed me that I was in surgery for around 7 hours - a lot longer than originally planned and I was informed this was because Mr Garreffa wanted to take his time to ensure a good result Following my surgery, I have had a lot of approbation and positive recognition from nurses and other healthcare professionals in relation to the high standard of surgery that Mr Garreffa has performed - for this I am truly grateful to of had such an amazing surgeon. I am extremely happy that I have been transferred to Mr Garreffa and I am overjoyed with my care and treatment post-surgery. Thank you, Mr Garreffa.

I feel lucky to have had Mr Garreffa as my consultant - from cancer diagnosis right through to the end of my treatment I felt he had my best interests at heart and ensured that I got the best treatment possible. Mr Garreffa has always been very clear in his explanations of what treatment would be required and the potential risks and benefits, and he has always managed to make me feel at ease. He is clearly excellent at what he does but also has had an really caring manner with me as a patient.
