We took our daughter to see Mr McArthur as we were getting no answers about her ongoing and worrying symptoms. She was very nervous about seeing a male doctor at first, but he was reassuring and courteous, listening to our concerns and answering them fully. We never felt rushed and when our daughter went in for further testing with him she said that he and his team were absolutely wonderful and she was not afraid at all. We received a diagnosis very quickly and thanks to Mr McArthur our daughter is now beginning medication to control her condition. He is very patient, and fully answered every question about our daughter's condition (written on a long list!) We wouldn't have got this diagnosis without him, and we cannot fault his care or the care of all the staff at Spire Parkway. Thank you so much Mr McArthur and all the best for the future.

Mr McArthur is a really great guy. I was very apprehensive before attending my first consultation with him but he quickly made me feel at ease. He listened to all the problems I was having and described the choice of procedures available to help with my condition. The operation itself was an amazing experience and the level of care I received was excellent. I also distinctly remember being close to tears the following day when I said to my wife that this great surgeon had in fact given me my life back. For this, I will be forever indebted to him.

I made an appointment with David McArthur when my perianal abscess kept returning after several operations over the past years. I luckily saw him on the same day as making my initial enquiry and he was very thorough in explaining my exact problem and gave me clear next steps. I was seen for an MRI quickly and the results came back quickly too. When the results came back David explained exactly the procedure I should have to give me the best chance of not having a flare up again and the potential risks. On the day of the operation David came to see me before and run over the operation and risks again. My recovery was quick and there were no complications and I am really pleased to say I’ve had no further issues so far. Out of the many surgeons and doctors I have seen about this issue, David was the most helpful and I could put my complete trust in him. Thank you David!

Making a decision to see a surgeon is probably amongst the most difficult and stressful we will ever make. However, my initial anxiety and apprehension dissolved within minutes of meeting Mr McArthur. His friendly but concise analysis of the issues and possible outcomes became totally absorbing and was continued at a pace that allowed questions and explanations in full. Nothing was hurried or rushed. Admittance for surgery at a mutually agreeable time was straightforward and Mr McArthur’s team did everything to put me at my ease. Preparation was explained and commenced without delay – I was surprised at how quickly the procedure was over and I was back in my room. I left the hospital the same day, fully briefed with the knowledge of what to expect in the coming days and armed with post surgery antibiotics, and pain killers should they become necessary (they didn’t). I had no post op pain whatsoever. The follow up consultation was conducted in a timely manner and allowed for a suitable recovery and settling period. It reviewed all aspects of the procedure and my personal well being. This was an experience that I cannot fault. Should have done it years ago.

After my initial consultation wiht Mr McArthur I said to my wife, “if you have to have someone operate on you then you want it to be him.” Mr McArthur sorted out two inguinal hernias for me and he is as good a surgeon as I had hoped, my tummy is now back as nature intended. From initial consultation, through pre op, post op visit and follow up consultation Mr McArthur met my every need. A very attentive listener who understood and allayed any concerns I had. Importantly for me we agreed a timescale that suited my condition and my lifestyle needs. If I ever need another operation that is within Mr McArthur’s repertoire then I will be seeking him out. Thank you.
