Dr Kaliaperumal was absolutely amazing in the run up to getting brain surgery, explaining to me clearly what was going to happen and putting my mind at ease about the surgery whilst going through the risks. He managed to remove the cyst fully doing no damage to anything else resulting in me having no side effects after surgery and minimal scarring on my head. 7 months later I’ve just been for a follow up consultation where I was informed that my brain doesn’t even look like it has been touched and no one would ever know I’d ever had surgery. Absolutely amazing at what he does and I couldn’t be more thankful that he saved my life along with ensuring no further damage was done!

I was referred to Mr Kaliaperumal suffering from chronic pulsating leg pain via my GP/pain specialist . The condition meant I had trouble walking distances before having to stop for rests. As an active middle aged man this was frustrating and impacting my quality of life. Mr Kaliaperumal referred me for an mri and based on that result I had 2 rounds of nerve root block treatment as I wished to try all non surgical means, however Mr Kaliapermul always stressed at some point surgical intervention would be required as both nerves were compressed due to thickening and stenosis . I had a bilateral foraminotomy in July 2022 and a follow up in march 23 when I was discharged from his clinic. All through this process the advice and treatment has been absolutely first class. Every option and out come was clearly explained ,the operation and aftercare by all the team was second to none. I was discharged the day after the procedure and followed all the advice given. I can now walk , pain free, for 4-5 miles, with only minor discomfort if I twist or lift awkwardly . I cannot understate the difference this has made to my quality of life- I no longer dread going on holiday or out for walks and having to stop every 1/2 mile at best for a rest. I am truly indebted to the skill of Mr Kaliapermul and the team and would recommend them to anyone. They are a credit to the nhs.

Dr Kaliaperumal has been fantastic from first meeting him, he was always very open and honest and explained everything in a way i could understand. Post surgery I was extremely distressed as was blind, the Dr came round and reassured me that it was likely to be temporary and I immediately felt better. The Dr was very good at keeping my family informed during an extremely difficult time. Post surgery he has been great at keeping in touch and checking in on the progress of my recovery. I feel he genuinely cares about me and my recovery and am grateful to have received such good care. Overall the staff in ERI were amazing.
