I first met Mr Acharya when I went to see him regarding a possible knee replacement on my right leg. I was immediately impressed with his assured friendly manner. He informed me that the knee needed to be replaced as soon as possible. All the time I was with him he was very calm & respectful towards me. I had the operation as soon as possible after the covid restrictions, and when he came to see me he was very reassuring that the operation went smoothly. I have since been back to see him for a check up & again he was very gentle and respectful & assured me that my knee had recovered very well. I could not have received better treatment or care anywhere.

I had ruptured my Achilles Tendon playing cricket with no previous history of Achilles problems. I was fortunate to have private medical healthcare through work and was referred to Mr Acharya. At the appointment he examined my injury and sent me for a scan during the same appointment. The scan results came back straight away and he advised me that surgery was going to be the best course of treatment. He explained to me exactly what the procedure was going to involve and a realistic timescale for the post surgical recovery and rehabilitation. I had a number of questions to ask him and he took the time to answer them all and reassured me. I agreed to surgery and my surgery was scheduled exactly 2 weeks on from the date of the injury occurring. On the day of the surgery I met once again with Mr Acharya and he reassured me everything would be fine. I had the surgery in the evening and was kept in overnight as by the time I came out of surgery it was getting late on in the evening. Post surgery was very much pain free and my foot was in a space boot. I had an appointment a few days after surgery to check the wound and change the dressings and a general check up by Mr Acharya. Physio started a few weeks later which involved light exercises. 8 Weeks post surgery I came out of my space boot and started walking. Initially I was walking with a limp and found I have no strength in my operated leg do to all my muscle having wasted away. 12 weeks post surgery I was discharged from Mr Acharya with physio still to continue. My overall experience throughout has been excellent. Everything was efficient , seamless and surpassed all expectations I had. I recovered a lot faster than the initial time scale Mr Acharya had quoted. The quality of care given was fantastic and I really would recommend Mr Acharya to anyone who has a similar injury to what I had. A fantastic surgeon and and a thoroughly nice man !

From the start of the process Mr Acharya explained clearly the options for my condition. Once I was booked in to have my partial knee replacement surgery the whole team was fabulous. Post operation Mr Acharya was caring and once again explained what had been done and how to aid my recovery.

I have just returned home form having a total left knee replacement carried out by Mr Acharya, I also have a total right knee replacement carried out by Mr Acharya in June 2019. I cannot thank Mr Acharya enough the surgery he has performed on me has been life changing. I was put totally at ease throughout the whole process and was given ample opportunity to ask questions prior to both procedures, he is very caring and fills you with confidence. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Acharya to anyone who has chronic arthritis in knee or hip joints.
