I was suffering from pain in both legs when walking and was referred to Chase Farm Hospital. After MRI's and an injection in my spine during day surgery it was decided that an operation to increase the narrow channel for my spinal cord which was being compressed and causing the issue I was experiencing. Because of Covid it was some time before my date for the operation, which was then put back, which was a disappointment and was rescheduled a few weeks later. The risks were explained to me again just prior to the operation and it went ahead. I didn't feel a thing and the next thing I knew was waking up in bed in a private room. After a few hours I was up and walking around the ward with little or no discomfort, Mr Dudhniwala popped his head in o tell me the operation went well, which was considerate, rather than a staff member. I have just had a follow up appointment and he explained what had been done during the op and how to go forward with physio and have been discharged with an option to visit again if needed. I found him to be friendly, efficient and caring and would recommend him to anybody for the same operation I had.

Very happy with this consultation. I was listened to and checked over physically. We discussed the possible causes of my pain and actions that can be taken. I was promised an in depth written conclusion and suggestion. My only disappointment was that an MRI I had had at Epping was not available although I thought I had arranged it to be available via the X-ray department. Mr. Dudhniwala said he will look at the MRI when available to check out his conclusions from one taken in 2019. I will start some back exercises as recommended.
