I found the experience at chase side challenging I was seen at outpatients but in the waiting area there was not enough seating so I had to stand for nearly an hour as the area is also for patients waiting for blood test the TV screens which there are 2 one for bloods and the other for consultants is bloody annoying as the screen for bloods keeps bleeding for next patient and the other one for consultants which keeps pinging when your name is on screen was driving everyone mad I ended up having a migraine I felt it was very impersonal as your name is sprawled across a screen so everyone can see [a must have for identity fraud] a few people I spoke to didn't like it also the same names kept appearing 4 or 5 times when staff were asked about it it was explained that some patients were not on time for appointments well I'm sorry they should be the ones to wait instead of delaying the ones who were on time very disorganised I had to wait over an hour to be seen
I attended the Walk in Centre on 28 December 2014, with a fractured hand. At the unit the receptionist was extremely helpful and considerate of the level of pain I was in. Although it was a fairly long wait (about 3 hours), the first nurse I saw was brusque, somewhat distant but efficient. The radiographer was friendly and informative, the X Ray department was freezing cold! The second nurse I saw was a senior emergency nurse practitioner, who undertook a thorough examination, all the while advising and reassuring me of her findings and planned next steps. The main department was clean and tidy, with hand cleansing facilities accessible for patients and staff. The main department was warmer than the X Ray department! I would not hesitate to recommend the unit to others.
