I was first seen by Miss Helme in 2022 to discuss a Breast Lift/Reduction. I received clear and concise information and was given honest expectations of what could and could not be achieved from the surgery. I went ahead with the surgery in June of 2022 and almost a year on I could not be any happier with the results. The surgery has transformed my bust shape and I have so much confidence now. I received lovely treatment from all staff at The Spire Hospital and would recommend Miss Helme and Spire to others. Thank you so much.

I thought I might be wasting Miss Helme’s time, but she listened to me and asked me questions and she asked her nurse to take me round for a mammogram and ultrasound to be done immediately. I cannot recommend highly enough.

If you are considering having breast surgery I cannot recommend Sophie Helme highly enough. Sophie is friendly, compassionate and made me feel very comfortable from start to finish. I felt in safe hands and I am thrilled with the results of the breast reduction surgery. Thank you.

Profile

I understand the anxiety and emotional stresses breast problems can cause. I therefore centre my practice around listening to patient's concerns, addressing and investigating them if necessary and providing a clear and individualised solution. I aspire to do this is a friendly, open and sympathetic setting so that my patients really feel that they have had had a chance to be listened to.

I have had somewhat unusual training as I received specialist fellowship training in both oncoplastic breast surgery as well as cosmetic surgery. I use this training to individually tailor my approach for breast operations. I was awarded the Gold medal for excellence for my FRCS surgical examinations for achieving the highest mark nationally in 2012. I have worked as a consultant breast and endocrine surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth since 2015 which has one of the busiest breast units in the country.
