I was quite anxious about this appointment beforehand, but I needn't have been , but Sophie immediately put me at ease. She has a friendly smiley face and listened to my concerns. Sophie made notes and then carried out an examination then explained what she could do and was very reassuring. She said she would email her treatment plan, which i received 2 days later and that Spire would email the fees which i received the following day. Overall an excellent 5* experience.

I recently saw Sophie as I found a lump in my breast. I found her to be kind, gentle empathetic and very thorough. It’s a time of high stress and she completely made me feel at ease. I would highly recommend Sophie and I wouldn’t hesitate to contact her in the future.

I have only seen Miss Helme once so far and found her professional and empathetic. I had found a breast lump and as a retired nurse whose work had been mainly with cancer patients I was very thankful for both of these qualities. Sophie was easy to talk to and arranged for further tests to be carried out the same day. I did not feel at all rushed and was given plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

When I met Sophie in the clinic I felt comfortable straight away , she put me at ease and was so lovely . Explained everything and was just so kind and caring. Both my husband and myself came out the room amd both said how nice Sophie was and it really does help with what you are going through. Nothing was hidden and all the steps were explained . Highly recommend .

Profile

I understand the anxiety and emotional stresses breast problems can cause. I therefore centre my practice around listening to patient's concerns, addressing and investigating them if necessary and providing a clear and individualised solution. I aspire to do this is a friendly, open and sympathetic setting so that my patients really feel that they have had had a chance to be listened to.

I have had somewhat unusual training as I received specialist fellowship training in both oncoplastic breast surgery as well as cosmetic surgery. I use this training to individually tailor my approach for breast operations. I was awarded the Gold medal for excellence for my FRCS surgical examinations for achieving the highest mark nationally in 2012. I have worked as a consultant breast and endocrine surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth since 2015 which has one of the busiest breast units in the country.
