When I went to the breast clinic today I didn't have much hope of getting my point across and being understood as I have been to several doctors over the past eight months who simply didn't understand my side of the situation and refused to hear my desperation. Then I met Miss Ball who totally listened to my points and understood my peril. She was extremely knowledgable and thorough in all that she explained. We discussed my situation and weighed the pro and cons. By the time I left her office I had tears of joy in my eyes and relief knowing that there was a doctor who knew her stuff inside and out and took the time to listen to me. I only wish there were more caring physicians like Miss Ball out there to share their expertise in such a caring mannor. Many thanks to Miss Ball, Marilyn Millman

Being referred to this clinic is a frightening experience however the care and attention I received was second to none. From being referred by my GP to getting the final results was minimal which is obviously a great help. Both Clinic C and the Breast Imaging Dept are clean, welcoming and the staff are great - a special mention must go to the 'tea lady' who takes great pride in her job and livened up the waiting room offering drinks, magazines and generally bringing a buzz to the clinic. Miss Ball was fantastic - admits to being paranoid about her patients which demonstrates her care and wanting to do the right thing for you. Whilst I don't believe you can fully feel at ease during these types of situations she does everything she can do reassure you. Cannot fault anyone I came into contact with during this time and would like to thank everyone for their care and sensitivity.

My cancer was picked up at screening and every step of the way my care has been exemplary. I had surgery on 18 December and saw Miss Ball again for my results on 10 January. It's been a privilege to be under her care. The surgery went well and I'm recovering well. I've found her to be warm, approachable, generous with her time and happy to answer my questions however inane they might have been. I spend a lot of time with doctors in my professional life and I haven't come across a better advert for female surgeons or a better role model for young women aspiring to careers in the surgical specialties. And to cap it all she's a nascent Arsenal fan!

I found Miss Ball extremely pleasant and she made me feel very comfortable at a stressful time. She was also very informative on a issue I had.

I found the service very efficient, informative and reassuring. I would recommend this unit - it was the fastest appointment available and Miss Ball had a lot of patience and time listening to my concerns.
