This doctor explained the situation fully in terms I could understand and was very helpful in answering my questions and concerns - even by email a few days later when I was worried about my reaction to the procedure. I am undergoing EVT treatment of varicose veins in my right leg.(My left leg is unaffected. From the start of my treatment in Sept 2023, Catharine and her team have been thoroughly professional and communication with them has been straightforward and efficient. I have always felt that I am in safe hands. They have explained the treatment at every stage, and for the first time in my life I look forward to my medical appointments! The treatment has been successful so far and I am now at the final stage, treatment of the thread veins. The treatment has made a huge difference to my right leg. In short, I would highly recommend the treatment and Catharine McGuinness and her team.

I had an ankle operation on one leg and the wound was not healing after many months. A TVN nurse carried out a doppler test which showed poor circulation in this leg and she recommended a vascular referral to try to help the wound recovery. I was referred to Cathy McGuinness who evaluated my legs with an ultrasound and identified a 75% stenosis in one of my arteries and reflux in some of by veins. She decided that the stenosis was not the problem but that eliminating the reflux would improve the circulation to allow the wound to heal. She carried out a laser closure of a vein in my leg with the wound. The wound has now recovered and further ultrasound tests show improved circulation in this leg. So she seems to have correctly identified circulation problems, correctly identified a solution and the result has been a success. I particularly liked her quick and articulate responses to my emails explaining what was proposed and why and of course her correct analysis of the solution. Many other people were suggesting that i needed more a major operation to improve the arterial stenosis. She also found a reflux problem with my other leg and did the laser treatment on this leg as well at the same time for no extra charge. I understand that reflux causing poor circulation is quite common and if you have this I recommend Cathy McGuinness as she provides a good analysis to identify any problems using ultrasound as well as a cost effective solution for the laser treatment of veins with reflux.

I cannot recommend Miss McGinness highly enough. My issue was complex and had already baffled a series of Doctors, she was thorough and very comprehensive in her examination and got to the root of the problem. Her attention to detail and thoroughness in following up after the appointment was very impressive. Highly recommended.
