in 2008 I was referred to Dr. Ram at Halton hospital after experiencing unexplained symptoms. Dr Ram made a tentative diagnosis followed by conformation after a liver biopsy. I was given medication for auto immune hepatitis which was successful for three years before I rejected this medication and became jaundiced and admitted to hospital where I found Dr Ram showed great concern and gave me attention as if I was his priority. My experience with Dr Ram is one of friendship and trust as he has always showed me concern and treated me with honesty thank you Dr Ram--David O

A very understanding consultant highly recommended. He has changed my life. I have been suffering from ulcerative colitis for fifty year but since being cared for by Dr Ram I have been free from my symptoms for more than six years. I have total confidence in him.

Dr Ramakrishnan has been my consultant since I was became unwell in 2012. I have found him to be very professional at all times and his manner and knowledge has made me feel at ease with this embarrassing cause of treatment.

Dr Ramakrishnan is superb. After being under the care of another gastroenterologist for several years, with absolutely no improvement whatsoever , I requested a change of consultant and was transferred to Dr Ramakrishnan. This was the best move I ever made. I was suffering from a bowel and rectum condition, brought about by radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer, which resulted in rectal bleeding and almost total loss of control of my bowel movements. Not only was this debilitating but also extremely embarrassing at times with me being unable to reach a toilet quickly enough to avoid an "accident". Additionally, it meant that I was restricted in my ability to go wherever I wished as I could require a toilet within fifteen or twenty minutes of my last bowel movement. As stated above, this condition had prevailed for several years before I switched to Dr Ramakrishnan but began to improve, albeit quite slowly, under his care to the point where it is now quite manageable although, as he explained, it cannot be completely cured. His approach to patients is delightful, making any discussions feel as though they are between friends or colleagues rather than doctor and patient. He explains fully, and in laymans terms, exactly what the problem is, what procedures he is undertaking, what the results of any tests reveal and how he intends to deal with any conditions found. One feels totally relaxed in his surgery and you always leave feeling you completely understand your medical conditions and totally confident that they are being dealt with in the best way possible. I would recommend Dr Ramakrishnan to any of my friends and family and place my compete trust in him.

I have suffered with IBS for a number of years over 10 years. Last year I began feeling like I was having a flare up but this last months and I was becoming increasingly ill. I was fainting after eating or exercising but there was no pattern. I went to my GP who I felt was reluctant to refer me and gave me stronger IBS medication. This didn't work and my symptoms continued and became worse. I was due to get married March 2014 so this was worrying. I pushed to be referred and I had an endoscopy which showed I had H. pylori of which I received triple therapy for. This course finished and my symptoms within days returned, I felt helpless as it was affecting my work and impacting massively on me. I returned to my doctor but was met with a frosty response basically making me feel like it was in my head. I went privately due to this and this was where I met Dr Ram. At no pint did I feel he was rushing me out if the door, he listened to everything I had to say and went back 10 years to the start of my problems. I questioned my GP's response and it was established that some people do need a second course so Dr Ram wrote a letter to this effect. A second course was prescribed and I felt so much better. I had a MRI scan on my small intestine and I felt as though it was being looked into professionally. I felt immediately at ease with Dr Ram who had a fantastic bedside manner and makes you feel like he is listening and he certainly knows his stuff. A very clever man and someone who I thank massively as I was well on my wedding day due to his help. I was also referred back through the NHS under his clinic, in my opinion he could have kept me as a private patient as I would have paid but he never and I appreciated his greatly. Can't recommend Dr Ram highly enough. Thank you. Carly x
