Dr Ramakrishnan is superb. After being under the care of another gastroenterologist for several years, with absolutely no improvement whatsoever , I requested a change of consultant and was transferred to Dr Ramakrishnan. This was the best move I ever made. I was suffering from a bowel and rectum condition, brought about by radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer, which resulted in rectal bleeding and almost total loss of control of my bowel movements. Not only was this debilitating but also extremely embarrassing at times with me being unable to reach a toilet quickly enough to avoid an "accident". Additionally, it meant that I was restricted in my ability to go wherever I wished as I could require a toilet within fifteen or twenty minutes of my last bowel movement. As stated above, this condition had prevailed for several years before I switched to Dr Ramakrishnan but began to improve, albeit quite slowly, under his care to the point where it is now quite manageable although, as he explained, it cannot be completely cured. His approach to patients is delightful, making any discussions feel as though they are between friends or colleagues rather than doctor and patient. He explains fully, and in laymans terms, exactly what the problem is, what procedures he is undertaking, what the results of any tests reveal and how he intends to deal with any conditions found. One feels totally relaxed in his surgery and you always leave feeling you completely understand your medical conditions and totally confident that they are being dealt with in the best way possible. I would recommend Dr Ramakrishnan to any of my friends and family and place my compete trust in him.
