We have had such a positive experience with Dr Thakur. We first saw her when our son was only 18 months and then now when he is nearly three. In that time he has received exceptional care. She is so empathetic and knowledgeable, she recognised his difficulties and have helped us on the path to getting him the help he will need. We can not thank and recommend her enough!

We are at the very first stages with our 3 year old son. Currently we have only had an initial appointment in order for Dr Thakur to understand concerns and make judgement on the next steps. This was done via telephone due to the current COVID-19 situation. We discussed in length our concerns and Dr Thakur tailored the questions based on the concerns we had to really understand how our sons mind thinks and his behaviours, she ultimately could work our exactly how our child would behave in certain situations based on her in depth knowledge and questioning, even without initially meeting him. Following our consultation, Dr Thakur has recommended assessments for ASD, ADHD and developmental delay, all of which we agree is the next steps. Dr Thakur could sense my urgency in wanting to pursue and we was able to get an appointment on the same day as insurance authorisation. Even at these early stages I’m confident that the process will be made much easier Dr Thakur and I wouldn’t hesitate even in these early stages to recommend.

I brought my 5 year old grandson to Dr Thakur for an Autism Assessment, ADOS-2. Very impressed and grateful for the exceptional care and service received - a really wonderful doctor. Dr Thakur has made our difficult journey so much easier! I feel so fortunate to have met her, she really is a great Dr. From our initial conversation over the phone, even before we had made a commitment to proceed with the assessment process, Dr Thakur listened intently to my concerns, took them seriously and demonstrated such empathy, she immediately grasped the difficulties my son was experiencing and there was little doubt from them on that we wanted to work with her. I have found Dr Thakur highly knowledgeable, very intuitive and an exceptionally skilled communicator. She was flexible and adaptable throughout the assessments, making the process more relaxed. Dr Thakur had been enormously diligent, she went through my sons case file with a fine tooth combe, not only extrapolating information for the purpose of her assessments but remembering details also, helping her to show a deep understanding of my sons character and profile. I dont believe any other professional has, in such a short time of knowing my son, grasped him so well. This undoubtedly enabled Dr Thakur to build a rapport with him during the assessment, working well with him in a individualised way which was tailored to his specific needs, ultimately resulting in a positive experience, which so many other professionals have previously failed to do. Personally as a parent I feel Dr Thakur has affirmed my approach, despite professionals from the school judging me and making me feel like I was the problem. I feel I have a renewed confidence that what I have been doing is right. She has been immensely supportive. I really can’t thank Dr Thakur enough and I would highly recommend her to others.
