Dr Chinedu Nwokoro

Introduction I am Chinedu Nwokoro and I am an NHS children’s doctor. I see non-NHS patients at the Wellington Hospital in Elstree WD6 3BS and also at One Hatfield AL10 9UA. I see children with all kinds of medical issues and try to offer a holistic, responsive, sympathetic but fundamentally evidence-based approach to the problems I encounter. My Ethos Three principles underpin the care I offer I’ll listen - to you and to your child. I’ll listen thoroughly and without prejudice, not only to the story you have to tell but also to the things you want from your appointment. Only then will I consider performing any examination or test, because it is only at that point that we will have clarified the specific questions we aim to answer. I’ll be honest - If I determine that I am not the best fit for your child I’ll refer you to one of a comprehensive network of colleagues who may be better placed to assist without delay. I will treat you and your child with the same respect and care I would demand for my wife and daughters, but I will tell you the truth, even where it is at odds with what you may wish to hear. I’ll be kind - it is my belief that the therapeutic relationship is most effective where there is mutual trust, and that trust is rooted in honest communication conducted in a way that promotes relaxation in parent, child and doctor. I hope that through honesty and kindness both you and your child will come to trust me, to our mutual benefit. Education and Training Educated to A-level in Hertfordshire, I graduated in medicine from Jesus College, Cambridge in 2000. We saw Dr Chin a few days ago with our young son. Dr Chin was fantastic with our little boy, he put him at ease and had him laughing very quickly. He spent a considerable amount of time with us and made any examinations seem like a fun game for our son. He listened to everything my husband and I said and answered all of our questions. We felt so reassured by Dr Chin's thoroughness and it was evident that he always has the best interests of the child at heart. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate peadiatrician, we would highly recommend him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Chin at the weekend as he was seeing my daughter for the first time. He put her totally at ease and made her laugh. He was extremely thorough and explained everything he was doing to me. I couldn’t recommend Dr Chin highly enough and am so glad we saw him. My daughter’s breathing has already improved after only a couple of days.

Dr Chin recently provided an exceptional level of care and attention for our 2 year old son. He had a unique approach, sparing the time to understand not only my son’s full medical history but also our overall family dynamic and parenting experience. This helped to minimise and contextualise my concern and also engendered a genuine sense of trust, empathy and mutual respect. Throughout our dealings he was thorough, compassionate and responsive, and I felt listened to and comforted. He was also brilliant fun with my little boy. I am so grateful that we came across him at this time and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to any parent looking for specialist care. Thank you Dr Chin!

Dr Chin was kind, re-assuring and took the time to listen to my concerns over my sons health. I feel informed and have complete confidence in his diagnosis. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Chin to anyone who has conerns over their child.
