This doctor was very considerate and put me at ease as he was telling me exactly what was going on around me and what he was doing at the time. He was very gentle as I have problems with my back and lying flat so he made it easier for me to do this as he put the bed up till I was comfy and then put it down gradually when I was falling asleep. A very good doctor overall, was very happy with his professionalism.

I was very nervous of having a spinal anaesthetic for my total hip replacement. Dr Uncles was very understanding and fully explained the benefits and potential of this procedure. In the pre op room he put me totally at ease. I was fully sedated so knew nothing about the operation yet awoke fully alert and am now totally convinced this the most appropriate form of anaesthetic for lower limb procedures. Dr Uncles came to see me on the ward the next day, he could not have been more professional or caring. I cannot express my thanks enough.

Dr Uncles first introduced himself to me when I was in the reception area of our local hospital where I was due to have a biopsy under general anaesthetic. He asked me questions about my health and wellbeing and said that I would next see him in the operating theatre. When I arrived there he greeted me and commenced the procedures he would be carrying out. He explained fully what he would be doing and asked if I had any questions. Dr Uncles at all times exuded complete confidence in a quiet authoritative manner.

I am 21 years old and very difficult to cannulate for anaesthesia, i have had over 10 surgeries now and it can be very daunting going into surgery knowing you are going to be pinned many times just to be put to sleep. I didn't have any of this with Dr Uncles, he suggested I be put to sleep using the gas and then be cannulated once asleep, this was so much easier! I thank him for making it an easy surgery.

Profile

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
