During my consultation I felt very listened to and respected. I wasn't rushed or dismissed in anyway. I was treated with absolute kindness. This made me feel extremely reassured especially as being unwell and in pain makes one feel very vulnerable. I was immensely impressed with all members of staff during my visit and how smoothly and efficiently the departments ran.

Dr sensitive to my needs etc and we both agreed that as I have been coping with the condition for several years telephone consultations would be sufficient in future unless anything crops up that needs a face to face appointment.

Dr Andra Negoescu totally listened to everything I told her and she also asked me relevant questions about my general health. She dealt with my health in a professional but caring manner and totally put me at ease. After being given so many different answers with my feet problems it’s a wonderful relief to have a positive response

Specialises in

  • Rheumatology

Profile

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Having grown up in a small town in southern Romania, I qualified in Bucharest, where I started my training in Rheumatology, before moving to the UK in 2012.

I joined Addenbrooke's Hospital in 2013 as a research fellow and spent 18 months working in the Rheumatology Research Unit, gaining experience in clinical trials and the use of biologics and small molecules.

I am currently leading the early inflammatory arthritis service in Cambridge, and along with my colleagues in Paediatrics, I am developing a transition service for young people with chronic rheumatological conditions, aiming to improve their journey towards adult services, and helping build their confidence in managing their condition. I also do community Rheumatology clinics in Ely and Newmarket, for people who are local to these areas.

Areas of interest:
Early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, adolescent care, small joint ultrasound, drug safety, joint injections, treatment pathways.
