I have 16 years of experience in adult and older adults inpatient and community mental health services and 8 years of experience as an independent non-medical prescriber. I strive to care for others in a friendly and down to earth manner and my passion for care and collaborative working is demonstrated in my track record of achieving improvements in care delivery with national award-winning recognition for transforming patient care. I’m also enthusiastic about supporting others to achieve their potential and so deliver academic training at a local University with experts by experience as well as providing mentorship and coaching. I have an interest in older age adults mental health and ensuring parity of care and continued development. Outside of work I enjoy gravel riding and mountain biking, bikepacking, hiking with bothy stop overs, walking my chocolate labs, cooking and spending time with my Family and Friends

I recently had my ADHD assessment with Michael Curtis and I honestly cannot thank him enough. He was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding throughout the whole process. He made me feel comfortable and listened to, and never once made me feel rushed or judged. Assessments like this can feel very overwhelming, but his calm and supportive approach made such a difference. I’m very grateful for the care and professionalism he showed and would highly recommend him to anyone going through an ADHD assessment.

Michael was great in my assessment. I found it especially helpful that he thoroughly explained his reasons for arriving at the given diagnosis. This technique reassured me that all areas of my life and health history had been carefully considered in the assessment. He was brilliant at gently steering conversation, approaching possibly sensitive topics and repeating back/paraphrasing what he had heard. All contributed to a very comfortable, positive experience!

All of the above. I was listened to, respected, and it is clear that Michael has foresight and experience, as he knows how to ask difficult questions without any negatives afterward. Knows how to open AND close ‘pandoras box’. A very validating, professional and personal 1:1 experience.

I had my ADHD assessment with Mr Curtis and found the whole experience extremely positive. I was quite nervous beforehand, but he immediately put me at ease. He was calm, kind and very easy to talk to, which made it much easier to be open and honest throughout the assessment. The assessment itself felt thorough and well structured, but also very natural and conversational rather than clinical or rushed. He asked thoughtful questions and really took the time to understand my experiences, both past and present. I felt listened to and taken seriously at every stage. What stood out most was his ability to explain things clearly and in a way that made sense, which helped me understand my own experiences much better. Receiving a diagnosis felt very validating, and that was largely due to the way the assessment was handled and I appreciated how he balanced professionalism with a genuinely human approach. Overall, I felt supported, respected and reassured throughout the process, and I would highly recommend him to anyone going through an ADHD assessment.

Michael was both friendly and professional, putting me at ease immediately with his calm, relaxed approach when introducing himself and explaining the assessment process and next steps. His questions were clear and concise and he really listened to my responses. His summary was excellent and reassuring. He has a genuine interest in people and treated me with integrity and respect. It was a very interesting and stress free assessment.

After a long and tiring road to get diagnosed with ADHD and having to push for people to listen to me, Michael has been a breath of fresh air. I felt he really cared about finding the right solution for me and really listened to my thoughts and feelings which was great. The first medicine wasn't quite right for me and so Michael added in additional meetings to try another one which is working really well, he gave me the time and support to get the right solution in place, he didn't rush me or process me through like a number, he made sure I was on the right path and happy with everything that was going on. Having found a good solution i've now been passed back to my local GP for a shared care agreement but if I need to be refered back to Harrow Health I really hope I can work with Michael again, he was encouraging and supportive but also realistic which was really helpful for me. Thankyou Michael for all your help, I feel really positive about the future now!
