I really appreciated working with Alex, he was clear with me about what was needed of me during titration, listened to my questions and gave me clear and compassionate answers, and he listened to my concerns regarding my treatment and dosage.

after spending my titration time with alex, i feel like i was very much looked after by him in a more caring way than most doctors. alex will always reply to a note on psychiatry uk as soon as he can and displays all of the necessary information if asked. furthermore, alex will always put a patients health first which was something that resonated with me. for example taking me off the slow release medication when i lost some weight and finding an alternative as opposed to dropping me altogether. alex halliday is by far the best person to talk to about anything adhd or methylphenidate related.

Alex was always really quick, professional, and polite in responding to my messages on the service's portal and also contacted me before starting on my medication to make sure I was going to be alright so I appreciated his taking time to speak with me and listen.

Alex was a brilliant nurse throughout the full process, always very friendly and helpful. They also were always very quick to respond to my problems and messages and chased up anything that needed doing without me having to do much at all. It made the whole experience effortless and easy to follow along with which was very important for me especially when I often find it hard to keep going back to something routinely and fill out forms.

Specialises in

  • Mental Health and Learning Disabilities

Qualifications:

  • Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber

Profile

I started my career as an administrative assistant within the NHS and eventually moved into a clinical role which inspired me to apply to train as a registered nurse. I completed my training in 2014 at John Moores University and have since worked as a Mental Health Nurse in a wide variety of NHS settings including acute inpatient wards, community mental health services and also held a leadership role within primary care. I am currently employed as an ADHD specialist practitioner by a local NHS trust and diagnosing, treat and monitor young people with this condition on a daily basis.

In my spare time I enjoy exploring in my campervan, classic cars, eating out and spending time with friends.

I look forward to working with Psychiatry UK clients during their ADHD medication titration phase.
