I have only had Carol Shue as my prescriber for a short while, towards the end of my titration. This is because my other prescriber wasn't responding to me at all. Therefore when I was passed over to Carol Shue it was a relief that she was very helpful, clear and concise in her communication to me. She always responds to my notes quickly and gives details answers meaning I don't have to ask further questions which works really great fot me. Carol Shue was very friendly during my end of titration review and she was patient and reassuring in making sure I understood all the information given and all the next steps. Thank you for giving me a positive end to my titration after a really hard 5/6 months previously.

Carol has been a great help to me, got back to me when I needed her to most and really helpful if I asked any questions. Couldn't have gotten through difficult time in my life without her advice and support.

Carol conducted the titration process for my ADHD medication, which was necessary following the national medication shortages. She was clear, concise, and very understanding throughout. This was extremely helpful as it was a difficult readjustment following months without treatment. I would wholly recommend.

I got switched to Carol as my prescriber with Pyschiatry UK in December. After just 4 messages Carol asked me if I wanted to conclude my titration on the medication I was on. Without me doing a single vitals form or symptoms form. This struck me as odd because she didn’t know if my heart rate or blood pressure was stable on the meds I was on or if my symptoms had improved since before starting medication. When I asked why Carol replied in a rude message saying how I’d been on 45mg of Methylphenidate since October, which was untrue, I wasn’t even on 45mg at the time. I’d in fact been reduced to a much lower dose due to heart palpitations. I informed Carol and asked if she had read any of my previous records. Once she clearly had read my previous records she advised me to stop taking medication immediately as my vitals were not in the safe range. She advised me to go onto a non stimulant medication which I am still waiting to come into stock, I asked her if I could have a small dose of methylfenidate to get me through till the other medication was in stock and she agreed as long as I gave her weekly vitals. After a few weeks Carol advised me to even stop taking the low dose of stimulants I was on as my vitals still wasn’t safe, swell as advising me to go and see my GP. Upon doing this I went back through my notes checking what my vitals where before I started medication and they was very similar to what they was on medication. I asked Carol what I should say to my GP as my vitals wasn’t really different before I went on medication. This message was sent on the 8th February today it is the 20th February and I am yet to receive a reply from Carol despite the messaging 3 times and calling up PUK. My advise to anyone would be to steer clear from Psychiatry UK and Carol Shue. It seems to me like they don’t really care about their patients. Both prescribers I have had now have completely ignored multiple questions I’ve asked. Why on earth was I on a medication for 3 months that supposedly was not safe for me to take? And on top of that why did Carol ask me to conclude my titration on a medication that is not safe for me? I feel like my health and well being has been neglected from the offset with Psychiatry UK and Carol Shue. Titration should have helped me but I feel like it’s only added way more stress.

Being under Carol's care has been a very positive experience. She is clear, firm, and professional in her instructions and expectations from the start and I have really appreciated her attention to detail through her monitoring. Further below I wanted to highlight examples of how she has been an excellent nurse: 1) Communication: Carol is always quick to respond. In my experience Carol typically responds within a day. Carol is clear and concise in her messages. It is easy to understand what her instructions are and she is happy to follow up when I needed further clarification. 2) Care: It is clear that Carol really paid attention to my concerns and the results from my monitoring form. For example, she asked that I redo my blood pressure reading when I first submitted it as she noticed the figures were unusually high. She suggested using the blood pressure monitor 3 times to get used to the sensation as my anxiety might have led to inflated numbers which I found helpful. Another example is when she double-checked whether I had consumed caffeine after another submission (due to high BPM values) which she was right about, and further suggested caffeine-free beverages. Overall, Carol's attention to detail helped to mitigate some of the common issues associated with remote titration. Carol ensured that the medication worked for me. We worked through many solutions to find out which dose worked the best for my schedule that had the least side effects. And when there were side effects Carol made sure to suggest multiple solutions to them so I could determine what worked best for me. At the end of the titration, Carol provided further information and instructions to ensure that the transfer to my GP goes smoothly which was incredibly reassuring given my titration occurred during the national shortages. Overall, my experience with Carol has been excellent. I have felt listened to, cared for, and I feel like I have been taught enough to ensure that my post-titration process goes smoothly.
