84 times I phoned this morning I haven’t been able to access care or treatment therefore I was not involved in my care.
I understand the NHS is under pressure so for two weeks I have been managing my pain by exhausted all alternatives for a suspected sinus/ear infection including private dentist and chemist minor ailments. Am I really expected to go to A&E for treatment?
I am currently out of a brand of tablets (high blood pressure) according to the receptionist i a m not due my tablets until Feb23.
Issue i am going away for 2 months, 3 days before my tablets are due, showed by flight details and wont give me the tablets, seriously unreal, as fir a Doctors appointment no chance been with them all my life, they customer care is shocking to say the least
That place is a hot mess! I know that GPs surgeries are under pressure but try using some common sense people - I spent over an hour on the phone today trying to get them - first time i finally got to the end of the queue i was cut off, second time i was told they'd reached capacity and to phone back tomorrow - they have a standard phone message for that that they didn't use, instead of wasting people's time and making them think they'd have a chance to actually speak to a doctor!!
I and my family have had excellent care from all staff in Tramways long before the Covid pandemic and, in particular, during the pandemic. I may have had to phone very early in the day to speak to someone but I have always got through and either had a script requested or offered a telephone appointment with a GP. The GP's have always been quick to call back and have been attentive, thorough and very caring - giving me time and answering all questions, no matter how trivial they many seem. On a number of occasions I, my husband and each of my children, at various points, have been brought into the surgery to see a GP for examination and treatment. I have been very grateful for the high standard of care we have received and have been referred to hospital for a number of procedures by GP's in the practice and have been seen quickly in AAH and elsewhere. The pressures on GP's at present are immense but I cannot fault any of the GP's, nurses, reception staff in Tramways as everyone is pleasant, very helpful and very efficient.
I have been attending this Centre for about 40 years. The service has been steadily declining during that period. Treatment is satisfactory when obtained however the problem is getting to that stage. It is almost impossible to contact the centre by phone as the telephone management techniques have gradually reduced the time when a response can be achieved. Thanks to Covid they have been able to whittle the gap down even further. Management would claim that this is due to levels of busyness but I would suggest that staff inefficiency or motivation is a telling factor.
