I visited the surgery as I was having trouble chestwise and I considered it urgent. I was told I wasnt allowed to see a doctor and that I would have to go home and await a phone call from the Doctor. I explained very carefully my condition but this made no difference. I was given a 2 hour slot to wait for a phone call, when it eventually came the Doctor immediately told me to come in 3 hours later, and within 2 minutes was given a prescription to ease the problem. As someone who has a Heart condition, Diabetes and God knows what else, but only comes to the surgery when I KNOW its urgent, I find it extremely frustrating that I basically had to wait nearly 8 hours to see someone. It wouldn't hurt and it may well be a good idea for Doctors to 'mark' Customers ( which is what we are) with Identification as 'non time wasters that know urgent means URGENT'.

I am a new patient having recently moved to Cornwall. I cannot fault the surgery in anyway from my limited experience. I had an in depth telephone consultation with a doctor when I registered. I found the reception staff friendly, polite and extremely kind both in person and on the phone. The prescription service is similar to my previous surgery and works well for me. I request repeat prescriptions online and collect them from the in house pharmacy. This works well for me.

I have had many problems trying to get a telephone call let alone a face to face appointment. The receptionist are very unhelpful I understand it is a telephone triage but i have had to wait several days before. I rang up on a Thursday afternoon for an urgent phone call, i was then told no phone calls let to ring back tomorrow (Friday) so I did, I rang just before 9:30 after struggling to get through until then and was told all telephone calls were booked and i would have to wait until next week, i then explained it was urgent. The receptionist was very rude and still didn't want to give me a telephone call. i then received a call at 6:25 after waiting all day for an URGENT call, i had rung up several times during the day chasing the call as i knew i would need to be seen which i had explained to the receptionist.by that time it was too late and i spent the night in hospital. Not the care I wish for.

• doctors blamed illnesses on anxiety without having the full results from tests back, turns out they were wrong! • don't send off referals, thought was sent off. Week and a half later and they didn't know what referal I was on about! • messed up a family members tablets, and they ended up very unwell. • don't inform patients of what's going on with their treatment. • messed up another diabetic family members prescription, leading to a longer wait. • sent for a blood test I couldn't have as it was past the time for the bloods to be sent off. • stupid telephone consultations meaning even if I have obvious symptoms that need to be looked at I cannot come in. The phone calls distrupt work and i cannot answer them. • I could go on and on and on.

The telephone consultation system is very difficult when you are at work, as its not always possible to take the call,or to speak privately. If patients were given an actual appointment time for the call it would help with these issues,although I would still struggle to find a private space where I wasn't overheard,but could at least have a chance of making sure I was free in order to take the call.
