I have had occasional rectal bleeding for several years, which appeared to be due to haemorrhoids. When it became more problematic, I was referred to UHMBT by my GP. However, this was during the Covid-19 pandemic, and I heard nothing for 18 months. Recently, I had a few acute bleeding episodes and was seen quickly by Ms Bronder at RLI. She did an initial diagnosis and explained the options in a way that gave me great personal confidence in her. She then rapidly arranged for me to have a sigmoidoscopy at WGH with a view to banding the offending haemorrhoids. This was done yesterday, and Ms Bronder and the whole Endoscopy team at WGH deserve the highest of praise for the way they made me feel comfortable and safe throughout the procedure. I can very strongly recommend Ms Bronder for her professionalism and caring approach.

I went to the hospital very worried that I had the signs of colon cancer. I explained my reasons. I was taken seriously and was examined accordingly and was asked many questions. At the end I asked how worried I should be about having cancer and was assured that I should not. However, something was wrong and I was refered for a colonoscopy. This did throw up that there was a problem but the surgeon was able to fix it there and then. For which I was pleased and very greatful. Removed items were checked for cancer and were clear. I can't thank all involved enough for the great service and how nice everyone was in the process. I was treated with respect and was dealt with professionally and with courtesy. I could not have asked for more. Thankyou.

Ms Bronder immediately impressed me with her friendly interest in me, giving me confidence in what was an unusual situation for me. After assessing the reasons for me being at WGH she continued to treat me as a person, carefully explaining to me the procedure which I was about to experience. I am pleased to say that the result of the Colonoscopy, carried out on December 22nd, did not reveal anything which required more attention. The small polyp which was removed during the investigation was described as an adenoma, a benign polyp. I received the latter information by post on 13th February,2023. This is well within the expected time to receive the result. I am very grateful for all the care I received.

I was referred urgently and saw Miss Bronder at RLI on 04 August 2022 undergoing examination. I then had a CT scan with contrast and she wrote regarding the results soon after. She had arranged follow up further similar scan which I had on 27 November 2023 at WGH. [The wait for the scan from appointment received caused me great anxiety]. I have just received another letter from her with good news from the scan results and I trust that superb lady implicitly with her excellent knowledge and judgement that her initial diagnosis and investigations were sound and have given me assurance. I am extremely grateful no operation was required but would know it would have been the correct answer. Miss Bronder is an outstanding credit to medicine and the NHS. Thankyou.
