My name is Nick Pearse, and I am a professional actor. I was referred to Mr Kim in March 2015 with a suspected lateral meniscal tear of the right knee (sustained during a live theatrical performance), and he performed a partial meniscectomy in the following April. Those are the dry facts - I'd like to add some detail to that by saying that as a consultant, Mr Kim listens, and explains details of both the injury and the required surgery very well and very clearly; and as a surgeon, well, I was told to expect to be on crutches for up to four weeks after the operation. I was off crutches after two days, started physio within a week and half of the op, and now, eight weeks later, I am almost back to full fitness - I think that speaks volumes about Mr Kim's skills as an orthopaedic surgeon. In addition to the above, Mr Kim is a very warm, friendly, and caring person, who displays a genuine interest in his patients, all of which means that I would, without hesitation, recommend his surgery and services to anyone unfortunate enough to need orthopaedic surgery.

This is my second hip replacement as I had my other hip replaced approximately 8 years ago by another surgeon and whilst that was a success when it came time to replace my other hip I researched if the methods of replacement had changed. I found that America had advanced with different methods more than the UK had and after speaking to a number of Americans that had their hip joints replaced by the new methods I found that the common result was better recovery times. So I went about researching the UK surgeons to see which had moved on in the same manner and I struggled to find any but this is where Mr Kim came in as he had moved forward and used what I would say 50% old method and 50% new method. After choosing him to do the operation I can tell you with experience that his method did improve my recovery time tremendously to the point of, less recovery pain, I was walking without any aids after two weeks and driving comfortably after three weeks. I cannot recommend him enough, his manner, his technique, his aftercare was excellent. Jim McKenna

I met Mr KIm for our preliminary meeting ,when he discussed the operation with me ,all the possibilities ,good and bad ,he showed the X-ray on the screen and then talked me through the the operation . At every stage I had complete confidence in Winston Kim and I found him to be extremely nice and easy to deal with , and a delightful person ,which meant I was only too happy to carry on with the operation , and the sooner the better. During the operation I was aware of the professionalism of those around me , and afterwards Mr Kim was there to reassure me that all had gone well, he then visited me that evening to check on my situation , and the following morning after an X-ray to check all was well ,he came to see me again.I saw him once more before my release ,I had no pain ,and the clearly the operation had been a complete success. Brilliant !!
