I was in a great deal of pain with a severely necrotic hip I opted for a private referral as I couldn’t wait for an NHS consultation. I saw Mr Kane who reviewed my X-ray and determined I needed urgent surgery he rearranged his diary and I had my operation 3 weeks later , he was very concerned that I didn’t feel pressured into the decision but made it clear I really had no other option. My care at the Spire Havant was exemplary from the Porter staff, nurses , clinicians, physiotherapists to the catering team everyone provided attentive and friendly support throughout my stay. I was a little apprehensive about the operation and the relatively short time I had to process what was happening Mr Kane and the anaesthetist were reassuring and I had confidence that I was in safe and competent hands. 8 weeks on I’m pain free driving again and I’ve regained my independence which was severely compromised before the replacement can’t recommend Mr Kane highly enough or the care I received at Havant Spire
I was lucky enough to be referred to Mr Kane for my total right hip replacement in July this year (24). Mr Kane was very informative and instilled a level of confidence that the improvement I would get from the operation would be significant and life changing. I'm pleased to say that that is exactly the case. I found that, post operation, I was in significantly less pain that I had imagined which put me in a better headspace to follow all the advice/instructions given for my rehabilitation. This allowed me to get off crutches earlier than I had anticipated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr Kane for his thoroughly professional though compassionate approach to what is a very involved operation. if you have this operation with Mr Kane or another specialist, do follow the post op rehabilitation advice/instruction, it pays dividends.
On 11th of June this year I underwent a total hip replacement on my left side, The care I received was brilliant and I can't thank Mr Kane enough for the surgery, I have had minimum pain and was up on crutches the same day as the operation, luckily I have had no problems, infections or complications. very grateful and happy
Very attentive, listened to pre operation concerns. Made me feel at ease and explained the procedure and recovery in detail. Advised me on the after care provision I would need (as I live alone). His advice was realistic and I was able to plan ahead for the post surgery period. When in hospital both Dr Kane and his team were very communicative and visited the ward before and after surgery. A very professional and personable doctor, with a high regard for his patients.
I had been experiencing leg and knee pain for about 2 and a half years with no conclusion as to where the pain was coming from. After consulting a knee consultant, it was determined that it was not the knee causing the pain and discomfort in walking.
I eventually referred myself to Mr Kane and after our first meeting, it was evident that my left hip was the cause of the problems, despite me not having any hip pain! I was told by Mr Kane that in a certain percentage of people, this happens and it was the X-Ray that finally pinpointed the issue
6 weeks later, I had the Hip Replacement and because I had been doing exercises before my operation to strengthen my leg muscles, my recovery was positive and speedy. I was able to do most things after 25 days and my ongoing exercises are making things easier every day.
Everything from the first meeting to the pre-op discussions and finally the post-op sign-off were perfect and I would highly recommend Mr Kane as a Consultant of choice.
