I was referred to Dr Robertson by my GP in December 2019 following the discovery of an enlarged lymphnode in my armpit and thickening in the breast. In January 2020 I returned to see Dr Robertson for the results and I was told it was breast cancer. He delivered the news in a very compassionate way and explained the next stage of investigations in a thorough way.and that they were to see if the cancer had spread As you can imagine the wait after the scan, blood test etc was so stressful. Dr Robertson knew this and rang me especially to deliver the good news that it hadn't spread,to save me waiting until my appointment came through. He also spotted a tumour on my kidney when looking at my scan and he immediately went and showed it to a Urologist who, to cut a long story short successfully removed a benign tumour. When I saw Dr Robertson in clinic he carefully and concisely explained my treatment options. The information I was given helped me to opt for a single mastectomy with lymphnodes clearance. The surgery and recovery went well. The fact he keeps you in hospital overnight for observation is very reassuring. So is his use of drains to reduce the build up of fluid. My scar is so neat and precise, his surgery is amazing. The histology from the surgery confirmed I would need chemotherapy which was something I initially was adamant I didn't want. It was Dr Robertson that explained the science to me and the importance of throwing everything at the cancer. I completed the chemo in August 2020, Radiotherapy in the September and I am now on hormone therapy. I had a mammogram in March 2021 and a C.T. scan in August 2021. I have been told I'm cancer free. I went to see Dr Robertson today (15/09/2021) to discuss reconstructive surgery. He took the time to explain my options and examined me in a very sensitive way, putting me at ease. He confirmed all was well and I was indeed cancer free. I cannot thank him enough for all he has done for me. His surgery and reassuring manner which convinced me to undergo chemo has saved my life. I will be forever grateful. The NHS is blessed to have such an amazing consultant who is transforming the lives of so many women who have received a breast cancer diagnosis. Keep doing what you do Dr Robertson and thanks again.

I have recently undergone a double mastectomy with reconstruction due to a positive BRCA2 diagnosis. I can not recommend this surgeon enough. He is compassionate, caring and extremely competent in his profession. It is thanks to him that I have been able to maintain a positive state of mental wellbeing and a positive image of myself. He completely exceeded my expectation of how I would be left following surgery I feel confident in my altered appearance and I have maintained a high level of confidence in myself. This man is a genius and a hero to women who have to undergo these types of procedures. Thank you Mr Robertson.

Stuart Robertson has seen me through my cancer diagnosis and related surgeries for three years. His immense skill as a surgeon has left me both happy and at peace with my body. However, it is his interpersonal skills that have left a lasting impression. From delivering not great news to post treatment/surgery conversations, Stuart Robertson has shown sensitivity, empathy and an ability to remember details about me as a person rather than 'a patient', which have left me feeling supported, informed and reassured in difficult times. There was no hesitation in giving Stuart the highest ratings - thank you.

For the past 4 years Mr Robertson has provided me with outstanding care. I had a double mastectomy with implant reconstruction. Since my surgery several medical professionals have commented on how fantastic my results are. I had neat scars which heeled well. I’m very pleased with the results of my surgery. Mr Robertson is approachable, attentive and patient. Every appointment he takes the time to listen and understand any concerns I have. He explains everything in a way that I understand not just medical jargon. I always leave an appointment feeling informed and reassured. I fully trust and respect him. I would highly recommend him.

From the first meeting with Mr Robertson in February 2021, he demonstrated a real understanding of how nervous I would be receiving the diagnosis. He was very quick to calm any nerves I had and establish my trust. He took time to explain in detail the procedures that were to come and I felt that he had got my sole interests at heart. From that moment on, at each meeting he continued to keep me calm and informed. At a time like this any woman would want to feel that they were in the best capable hands, with someone they could trust and to have the confidence that you were going to have the best outcome.
