Mr Stephen Guy carried out a total knee replacement operation at the Yorkshire Clinic, Bingley in March 2018 on my right knee which has been a great success and I am delighted in every way. I couldn't have wished for a better Surgeon - he is very welcoming and personable, treating you with respect on each visit to see him and both pre-op and post-op before discharge from hospital. I have recently returned to see Mr Guy for a 12 months check up who was delighted with the result of the X-rays and the recovery process - as I was also! The knee healed really quickly and the scar is hardly noticeable. Very important though to carry out the exercises as recommended after the op - sometimes very painful and time consuming but really important and well-worth while. I am 80 years of age and I am leading an active life once again due to having this TKR operation 12 months ago. I have played badminton for many years and six months after the op I was back on the courts playing without any problem whatsoever. Also, managing to do daily walks without experiencing pain - which is a joy! My knee still swells slightly on occasions, especially when I have had busy days, but this is to be expected and as Mr Guy explained to me on my recent visit it does take many months for the replacement parts to "bed in". After relaxing and elevating the leg the swelling soon disappears again. I was taking pain-killers and anti-inflammatory medication prior to the operation and for a short time post-op but very pleased to say that these haven't been necessary for several months now for which I am really thankful. Thank you Mr Guy and the team around you. I am truly grateful and appreciative. Hopefully I will return in four years time (as recommended) for a further check on my knee. I highly recommend Mr Guy to anyone considering a TKR.

Stephen Guy is a first rate surgeon - I would have no hesitation in recommending him to my family. Just as I was able to use "Choose & Book" the location of my operation - if I ever needed a further operation, I would request him as my first choice if it was in his specialism. He took the time to explain exactly what would happen during the surgery, the expected out come - short, medium and long term. I felt he was very approachable - he gave me the confidence to ask any question. From my first consultation meeting with him, I felt confident about the operation and re-assured that he would be available to discuss any queries and concerns I had.
