Mr Barrett gave me a clear description of what he thought the issue was likely to be, choice in terms of follow-up steps that he felt would be reasonable, and a clear pathway in terms of understanding what would happen next depending on scan results etc. He listened to my concerns and took them into account when making his recommendations for next steps. The consultation was a model of the "shared decision making" that the NHS strives for. I would recommend him to anyone.

Mr Barrett’s patients benefit from his great clinical expertise and also from his excellent bedside manner. Today I was at the end of my treatment, and appreciated the consistent approach he has taken to my care throughout. He had clearly reviewed my notes and spoke knowledgeably about my injury and treatment at each stage, as well as offering a thorough review of my recovery status. He was kind and considerate. He updated my understanding of my injury and took care to answer all my questions. I have absolute confidence in his work and thank him for his treatment of me since I broke my leg.

At my appointment Mr Barrett explained that I didn't have the condition I thought I had. He skillfully foundd the source of my pain and we discussed treatment options. After an x-ray he offered me the option of a steroid injection which I reluctantly accepted. I felt little pain and it was all over in less than a minute. He even gave me a written note of the name of my condition. I'd definitely ask to see him again when my other foot needs seeing to.

My son was involved in a car accident six months ago, breaking his femur and requiring a intramedullary rod to be inserted into his thigh. Thanks to the expertise and care of Michael and his team he has now made a full recovery and was signed off last week. It was obviously a very traumatic time for us all, but the care and attention he received from Michael was exceptional.
