I've seen Kash at the end of 2021 for a bucket handle meniscus tear. He was very clear in explaining my injury and very patient in answering all my questions. He was honest and open about the possible outcomes of the operations and listened to my concerns and requests. Not only he successfully closed the tear, he provided excellent post-op care and was very reassuring all throughout. He was regularly in touch with my physiotherapist to follow my rehab and checked on me until full recovery. I've been very happy with the care provided and would highly recommend Mr Akhtar!

I had the unfortunate experience of fully rupturing my right knee alongside severely damaging the meniscus in my knee. I was referred to Orthopaedic team at Royal London Hospital. I was feeling very depressed and down as I was always an active sports person and played tennis in local leagues and competitive tournaments. The first surgeon I saw said that I could continue with my life without surgery and not go through this. That made me very disheartened. Then I was introduced to Dr Kash Akthar, he was a godsend. He listened to my expectations and told me that after carefully looking at my case, he suggests an ACL reconstruction and while at it, he will fix my meniscus as well as it was damaged. I was not even aware of that damage. He was very thorough in his explanation and assuring me that I would be able to get back to old norm after surgery and physio. He was there for me from start to finish. On the day of the surgery, it was a pleasure to see him even before I was put under general and he calmed my nerves and told me that I was in good hands. I remember waking up and seeing him even before I left the hospital. He said the surgery was a great success and under 62 minutes he has managed to put a graft from my hamstring to my ligament and fix my meniscus as well. I started playing tennis again competitively and I have not had a single issue. It felt like I’ve never had the surgery. The scar is also very minimal and I’ve on occasions played tennis for up to 5 hours per day without any issues. Thank you Doctor Kash for everything, your expertise help not only helped my knee but also helped me mentally to recover and get stronger. I will super highly recommend Dr Akthar to everyone. Would highly recommend Kash. I had a grade two tear in my MLC which Kash correctly identified before my MRI! Kash has provided me with all the support, answers to all my 100s of questions, and everything I have needed to make a recovery. All appointment's were always on time and Portland place was a great facility to meet Kash at. Thanks a lot.

Dr Akhtar carefully listen to me and carefully reviewed my medical history. He clearly explained what the problem with my knee was and how are we going to go about it. He reassured me that it is fixable and no surgery is needed. He also explained the issue and the ways of fixing it. I have seen few doctors in the past regarding the same problem but for the first time I felt that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Dr. Akhtar is very approachable and easy to speak to.
