I had the unfortunate experience of fully rupturing my right knee alongside severely damaging the meniscus in my knee. I was referred to Orthopaedic team at Royal London Hospital. I was feeling very depressed and down as I was always an active sports person and played tennis in local leagues and competitive tournaments. The first surgeon I saw said that I could continue with my life without surgery and not go through this. That made me very disheartened. Then I was introduced to Dr Kash Akthar, he was a godsend. He listened to my expectations and told me that after carefully looking at my case, he suggests an ACL reconstruction and while at it, he will fix my meniscus as well as it was damaged. I was not even aware of that damage. He was very thorough in his explanation and assuring me that I would be able to get back to old norm after surgery and physio. He was there for me from start to finish. On the day of the surgery, it was a pleasure to see him even before I was put under general and he calmed my nerves and told me that I was in good hands. I remember waking up and seeing him even before I left the hospital. He said the surgery was a great success and under 62 minutes he has managed to put a graft from my hamstring to my ligament and fix my meniscus as well. I started playing tennis again competitively and I have not had a single issue. It felt like I’ve never had the surgery. The scar is also very minimal and I’ve on occasions played tennis for up to 5 hours per day without any issues. Thank you Doctor Kash for everything, your expertise help not only helped my knee but also helped me mentally to recover and get stronger. I will super highly recommend Dr Akthar to everyone. Best wishes to all.
