I found Mr Gnanalingham very reassuring after I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He spent time patiently explaining the situation and what was the best approach. He also clearly described what could be expected post-operatively and how the recovery was likely to proceed which was most helpful. Arrangements for my admittance were quick and the care I received whilst staying in hospital was good. Post-operative meetings have been very constructive and Mr Gnanalingham most attentive. Throughout the whole process, his knowledge and experience have shone through – I’d have no hesitation in recommending him. He’s the man to have on your side when faced with conditions related to his expertise. I would also mention his secretary Vaani who provides an excellent interfacing function to Mr Gnanalingham which is so important at times like these. Her empathy and knowledge of the key subject areas (hospital administration, patient needs and their conditions, scheduling, and telephone manner) is a credit to her.

I have been a patient of Mr. Gnanalingham since roughly 2014. He has performed surgery on my spine successfully & also previous epidural injections for pain. I am now pain free and off all pain medications. I feel he has empathy, and respect for me, makes me feel a valued individual, puts me and my family at ease by clearly explaining my treatment and condition. He is always professional, pleasant and friendly with an excellent bedside manner. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my family and friends. I cannot thank Mr. Gnanalingham, the clinical and administration staff at Salford Royal Hospital enough. They work so hard & cannot do enough for you.

I’ve got a Craniopharyngioma brain tumour and Mr Gnanalingham has performed two successful operations on me. I found him to be very professional and a good communicator who explained procedures well often using diagrams. His manner is caring and he also has a good sense of humour. Both of these attributes really helped put me at ease. I have a lot of confidence in Mr Gnanalingham and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

From the onset of my first meeting with Mr Gnanalingham, I felt really comfortable being able to talk to him and he fully discussed all options available to me for my pituitary transsphenoidal right hypophysectomy. On the day of my operation Mr Gnanalingham came to talk to me in recovery and again when I was back on the ward where he, or his Registrar, kept me informed of how things were going, as my recovery was slower than expected. On my follow up appointment, Mr Gnanalingham again took time to answer my questions and his listening skills are second to none. Mr Gnanalingham is very caring and gentle, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a consultant in his fields of expertise. I would also like to compliment the team as a whole. Outstanding service, Mr Gnanalingham was more than willing to go the extra mile. My husband had requested time off work to look after me on my discharge from Salford Royal. However, he was asked to attend a disciplinary hearing because he had taken the time off. Mr Gnanalingham took the time and trouble to write a letter to my husbands’ employer, explaining the circumstances of my brain surgery and the hearing was dismissed. Thank you Mr Gnanalingham.
