I am just recovering from a Right L5/S1 discectomy & decompression under the care of Mr Gnanalingham. After being house bound in severe pain for 10 weeks and a weeks hospital stay we decided to seek a second opinion by paying privately. Mr Gnanalingham reviewed my scan results and went through my options. We are due to get married in 4 months and we were going to cancel. Through Mr Gnanalingham’s help, advice and time we chose surgery as our best option. We were booked in within a week as he knew how important this was and our time frame was very limited. Even though this meant changing his schedule around he did it without hesitation. On the morning of surgery I was very anxious, worried and quite worked up. Mr Gnanalingham came and talked through my worries, the operation and how long I would be in theatre. Then the anaesthetist did the same. Both really making me feel at ease. His calm reassuring manner helped so much. Post surgery Mr Gnanalingham came back at night to make sure I was ok, comfortable for the night and say goodbye. What a fabulous Consultant. Even now at home the aftercare has been outstanding. His secretary is always at the end of an email if we have any questions, as well as follow up appointments. I can not thank Mr Gnanalingham and his team enough for giving me my life back and enabling me to walk down the aisle in May. I will be forever grateful.

I was first lucky enough to meet Mr Gnanalingham in April 2005. I suffer from a brain condition called Arnold Chiari Malformation. He performed a decompression surgery to ease my symptoms. It was a very scary time as I’d just had an unsuccessful surgery prior to this by someone else and was scared to go through anything again. He didn’t disappoint. He’s such a lovely caring man who put me and my family at ease. In October 2019 I was experiencing excruciating neck and nerve pain down my arm. I knew straight away there was only one surgeon I wanted to see. I have just had surgery for a bulged disc in my neck. From start to finish throughout his care I have felt safe and confident. I can not recommend Mr Gnanalingham enough.

I have been a patient of Mr Gnanalingham for 10 months due to a lumbar disc herniation. For me as a musculoskeletal therapist I didn’t want to rush into surgery as I wanted to try medication and physiotherapy first. Mr Gnanalingham was very caring and professional throughout and he made it clear to me that it was my decision when and if to go ahead with surgery. I decided to go ahead with the discectomy 6 weeks ago and it has been a huge success. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Gnanalingham to friends or my patients . He is one of the nicest surgeons around !
