At my initial consultation I felt that Mr Bell really took the time to understand my knee pain and how it impacted on my active lifestyle. He then arranged for a speedy MRI which confirmed a torn meniscus. A few days later Mr Bell telephoned me to discuss his diagnosis (which is great if you work as you don't have to take time out to attend another hospital appointment - which many consultants insist upon). Mr Bell recommended an arthroscopy, which he performed in early July. Prior to the operation he also explained that I would need some post surgical physiotherapy and recommended a great physio near to my home; which enabled me to book appointments in advance. My pain relief was evident immediately after the operation. I was walking normally within a week and swimming and cycling within 3 weeks - currently getting back into gentle jogging. My follow up consultation with Mr Bell last week was very encouraging. He was really pleased with my progress. Before Mr Bell operated on my knee I really felt that I would very reluctantly have to give up running (at the age of 52); now I certainly don't feel that way! Mr Bell is such a caring and positive person and clearly encourages his patients to get back to all of the sports/activities they really enjoy - regardless of ability or age!

Jonathon Bell attended to my combined ACL/MCL rupture incurred skiing over Christmas. I am a (reasonably) fit 30yo so it was important to find a surgeon that was prepared to help me return to a normal fit and busy life. As Jonathon is a very keen skier himself, he focused on making sure I would eventually be fit enough to ski and run again. Despite the fact that I had a slightly more complicated injury, my ACL reconstruction surgery went extremely well and my “new” ACL is very stable. Jonathon is very patient and has a great bedside manner. Wimbledon Hospital is also lovely. I would unreservedly recommend Jonathon to anyone.

I was very nervous at prospect of arthroscopy but Mr Bell reassured me totally and I feel I am under great care with him and his team - anaesthetist, physiotherapy and office management. I would highly recommend Mr Bell for knee problems ....

Mr Bell gave clear information about my diagnosis, treatment options, likely outcomes and risks. He has a calm and reassuring "bedside manner". This was the second time hw has treated me (different knees), and he fully repaid my confidence! Wimbledon Parkside is a great place to be treated: well run, very comfortable, lovely staff, well organised.
