Mr Hackett not only listens but also understands exactly what his patients concerns are. He is very well informed but also very supportive and encouraging which is most needed in this area of specialism. Mr Hackett and his team are very responsive to communications and are always willing to help.

Absolutely fantastic consultant. Mr Hackett has given me outstanding care for years, always listening very carefully to my views and concerns, taking them into account. His surgical skills are world class. He strikes the right balance between friendliness and being authoritative. I feel privileged to be one of his patients and can recommend him unhesitatingly.

I have only met Mr. Hackett once at Rosie Hospital as a NHS patient. He was 35 minutes later for my appointment. I had asked and arranged for extended session as I have special needs that slow down communication. He arrived to the appointment very late, and ended it before I could get any answers to my questions. As my previous consultant is on leave, he was supposed to at least have glanced at a year's worth of medical notes so he has some idea of what the plan was up to our session. He was completely unprepared. Trying to skim through past notes while I was talking to him. He made irrelevant comments about taking a 3mo injection instead of monthly (which isn't an issue for me). He ignored my actual medical issues, which are all related to peri-menopause and induced menopause transition I'm in. He laughed up the previous consultant's BTs and said he didn't want to waste any money on tests that are not helpful. Guess what? They were VERY helpful when they were ordered. A bit of respect to his colleague's plan wouldn't have hurt. He order one particular test without the context of other hormones that of course affect this hormone. Overall, I was not treated with respect or the slightest regard. He deliberately misconstrued my concerns into some sort of naïve questions, until by my insistence I made it clear that I meant very specifically to address the hormonal imbalance (than blame menopause or the previous plan). How he is approved by the BMS is beyond me. Obviously, as an elderly gynae he has connections to the society. I can't explain it otherwise.
