mr.kosuge was totally professional in his manner and caring for his patients.. he fully listioned to all my problems in my op and recovery I could not have asked for a better doctor to have cared for me.. when I sat in the waiting room waiting for my discharge a lady spoke to me about her concerns at having the hip replacement. I asked who was doing it and she said mr. kosuge I told her she was in the best hands to do the op and I meant it.. I am very happy with my outcome and could not be happier with my results and care thatn in received from mr kosuge thank you

I am normally very active so pain in my knee and groin was a major blow. It was perhaps a trigger for ‘agitated depression’ and I was extremely anxious before my first appointment with Dennis Kosuge. But he was brilliant at that session and at every meeting since. I have had a hip operation and was so impressed with Dennis and the hospital staff. My recovery has not been straight forward which is nothing to do with the operation. During this time I have felt that I have received very special care and concern from Dennis. Then after 3 months I fell and fractured my pelvis near the new hip. This is still being monitored by Dennis and I am so grateful to him and to be in his care.

A fully detailed explanation of my procedure, his opinion of which option would best suit me and why. Explained in an easy to understand way for the layman, with humor. During my operation he took great pains to reassure me and give a detailed "blow by blow" account of what was happening after I expressed an interest. A very pleasant man who has instilled total confidence in me of his professionalism, and I'm very pleased to still be under his care. We both know that at some time in the future I will need a knee replacement, I can only hope that he will still be available at this time. Knowing he would be doing the operation would remove a lot of the worry and stress at the time.

Profile

Mr Kosuge developed his passion for Trauma & Orthopaedics as a junior doctor and pursued this by enrolling onto the North-East Thames Percival Pott Orthopaedic Training Programme. His training took him to prestigious centres including The Royal London Hospital, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. He was inspired by a number of his excellent trainers to focus on the subspecialty of hip and knee joint replacements.

Following completion of specialist training in the United Kingdom, he enrolled onto and successfully completed a one-year fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia under the auspices of Professor Donald Howie. This fellowship allowed Mr Kosuge to refine his skills in hip and knee joint replacements, as well as revision hip replacements. During his orthopaedic training, he was the recipient of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Zimmer Adult Reconstruction Hips and Knees Fellowship in 2014, the AOTrauma Fellowship in 2013 and the Tohoku University Orthopaedic Visiting Fellowship in 2010 – and utilised his time visiting, learning and exchanging ideas with centres of excellence in Japan.
