I was seen by Dr Dannawi on the 7th April 2025, for radio frequency ablation for facet joint syndrone, since I had this treatment I can honestly say there has been improvements!!, I can actually turn my head in both directions without pain, I don't know the percentage of improvements but certainly feel relief from this treatment, I think they class a 60% to 80% success rate for this procedure!! I don't know how long this will help me, but noticed changes of improvements, I will like to thank Dr Dannawi for helping me, regards lee watling.

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and Mr Dannawi treated me at Rivers under the NHS. I was given 2 steroid injections in my back and one nerve block, none of which were successful. I had severe pain in my leg as well so asked for a second opinion. The second consultant I saw took one look at me and advised a hip X-ray. The X-ray showed I needed a hip replacement. I was told this should have been dealt with much earlier but Mr Dannawi didn’t even consider a hip X-ray. As I had been struggling for some years with the pain, I decided to have a hip replacement immediately at my own cost. To be frank I’m very disappointed in the care I was shown by Mr Dannawi, and his failure to diagnose my problem.

I saw Mr Danawi and in total Had 3 spinal injections none worked at £2000 a time. Ok the 4th follow up which cost another £160 I asked about a spinal nerve block. He said he would have to keep injecting until we found the right nerve to block. How many £2000 would that be? Having declined and referred my self to another private practitioner it appears there is nothing wrong with my back and I have piriformis syndrome which only requires some stretching and physical massage to in spasm the muscle. What a waste of £5000

I have had several injections over the last few years given by Mr Dannawi. I have chronic back pain and very painful Sciatica. I had a face to face with Dr Dannawi last week. The last telephone conversation I had with him. We made a pact. He said " if this injection doesn't work I will give you an operation". I agreed. The injection hasn't worked. I asked about operation and he said "you don't need one". About three years ago, he offered me one. As my condition wasn't as bad then, I declined. I've had this condition for over 23 years. It's worse now. I'm feeling very deflated and disappointed in Nr Dannawi as he reneged on his promise.

10th June 2023 It is a year ago today, Mr Zaher Dannawi performed a spinal decompression and tightened a few loose discs. I initially saw Mr Dannawi as my GP practice only advised more medication for my pain. This happened several times until I was taking over the recommended dosage as well as paracetamol in between. I could barely function day to day as the pain, despite all the medication was unbearable. From the moment I met Mr Dannawi he was empathetic. He took my hand, and said "I can help you, & make you feel better", and he has. I no longer take TWELVE painkillers nor EIGHT paracetamol. One year on, and I walk unaided, I sleep in a bed, not a chair, wash and dress myself, do my own shopping, and I even go to an aerobics class twice a week! None of this would have been remotely possible without this operation. I haven't got my old life back, I have a new pain free life, and I owe that to this remarkable and caring man and a wonderful, professional and talented doctor Mr Zaher Dannawi. Amanda T.
