In Feb 2017 I experienced excruciating back pain and was seen by Mr Dannawi privately, he very quickly arranged an MRI and prescribed pain relief, for this I was and still am very grateful, he recommended a nerve block injection and an appointment was made, unfortunately after the procedure was performed I was paralysed from the waist down for over 6 hours, it was quite scary and I asked to speak with Mr Dannawi but was told he had gone home, at approximately 11pm I was discharged by The Rivers still unable to walk without the assistance of my daughter, subsequently I have suffered severe weakness, pins and needles, pain and what I can only describe as spasms in my legs, in the following couple of months I saw Mr Dannawi I think 3 times but never felt he showed any interest in the difficulty I was experiencing, it is now over 3 years since the procedure and I still have chronic back and referred pain issues, I have not had a day without pain for years and wish with my whole being I had never had the injection, it has ruined my life, I do not feel Mr Dannawi and The Rivers Hospital showed any compassion or interest in my wellbeing, only in charging me for further appointments even though I had spent approximately £3000 to make my things worse
