It is a year ago today, Mr Zaher Dannawi performed a spinal decompression and tightened a few loose discs.
I initially saw Mr Dannawi as my GP practice only advised more medication for my pain. This happened several times until I was taking over the recommended dosage as well as paracetamol in between. I could barely function day to day as the pain, despite all the medication was unbearable.
From the moment I met Mr Dannawi he was empathetic. He took my hand, and said "I can help you, & make you feel better", and he has. I no longer take TWELVE painkillers nor EIGHT paracetamol.
One year on, and I walk unaided, I sleep in a bed, not a chair, wash and dress myself, do my own shopping, and I even go to an aerobics class twice a week! None of this would have been remotely possible without this operation.
I haven't got my old life back, I have a new pain free life, and I owe that to this remarkable and caring man and a wonderful, professional and talented doctor Mr Zaher Dannawi.
