Lovely man - chose this Consultant as he was recommended and he takes the prevention of cross infection extremely seriously to the extent that after hip operation does not like wounds to get wet - so no showering for first two weeks - unlike some other Consultants. Only constructive suggestion is that it would be nice to have a contact/ group after operation whereby concerns can be discussed related to aftercare - especially as in I my case I have never had a major operation before and would be good to be able to discuss any issues/ ask questions or just to put ones mind at rest - a bit of reassurance is always good and would definitely benefit recovery.

I am extremely happy with my new knee and cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention I received in PAH and My Kosuge in particular. He has been attentive, concerned and informative throughout the process and would happily have surgery from him in the future.

Mr Kosuge inspired confidence from my first consultation, through the operation and up to the final discharge from his care. He was open and honest about what the procedure would mean and what I should expect to happen. His manner and approach were both professional yet open to any questions that I might ask. My knee replacement was a complete success and I am about to undergo the same op on the other knee. I am so glad that Mr Kosuge will be carrying this out as well. I have the utmost confidence in him to achieve the best results for me. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing to have a similar procedure.

From my initial meeting with Mr Kosuge I was treated with the utmost care and respect with everything concerning my knee replacement including risks being fully explained in an easy to understand manner. The operation itself and the aftercare I have received have been fantastic and I would fully recommend both Mr Kosuge and his team to anyone needing orthopaedic care.

Profile

Mr Kosuge developed his passion for Trauma & Orthopaedics as a junior doctor and pursued this by enrolling onto the North-East Thames Percival Pott Orthopaedic Training Programme. His training took him to prestigious centres including The Royal London Hospital, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. He was inspired by a number of his excellent trainers to focus on the subspecialty of hip and knee joint replacements.

Following completion of specialist training in the United Kingdom, he enrolled onto and successfully completed a one-year fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia under the auspices of Professor Donald Howie. This fellowship allowed Mr Kosuge to refine his skills in hip and knee joint replacements, as well as revision hip replacements. During his orthopaedic training, he was the recipient of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Zimmer Adult Reconstruction Hips and Knees Fellowship in 2014, the AOTrauma Fellowship in 2013 and the Tohoku University Orthopaedic Visiting Fellowship in 2010 – and utilised his time visiting, learning and exchanging ideas with centres of excellence in Japan.
