My Inguinal Hernia (groin area) had returned after being fixed with mesh some 9 years years ago. I searched for an expert in this area and found Mr Christian Macutkiewicz. Excellent service from start to finish. Christian has a great bedside manner, he put my mind at rest and he explained the details of how my old repair had failed, and what he could do about it, the new type of mesh, what to expect, etc. He repaired my recurrent Inguinal Hernia effectively and efficiently, with a great outcome. Highly recommended!

From the moment I walked into the consulting room, Christian Macutkiewicz made me feel completely at ease . He was so polite and very honest in answering all my questions. He is a very caring, professional Consultant and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him . I personally don’t think he could do anything to improve the care for patients as his care was definitely 100%.

I got a private appointment with Mr Macutkiewicz the day after I enquired, and he was very caring and easy to talk to and explained my condition to my husband and me very clearly. When I had been in NHS hospital after having a severe gallbladder infection, nothing was explained to me - I was just told I'd be sent an appointment in 6 week, but I wasn't. A doctor in ED had told me that they wouldn't operate on me because of my age, so I was very worried that I might get another infection and develop sepsis. Christian assured us that an operation was perfectly safe at my age, I was 77, and I would be able to carry on with my very active life coordinating a mental health carers group - I was still a valuable member of society. I had the operation as soon as it was safe to have it and it was a success. I asked to stay in overnight and this was really helpful, and when I went home we traveled to Spire hospital for aftercare appointments. I am so relieved that we decided to pay for a private operation as I believe it saved my life and I now have years left to contribute to society and care for family members.

My experience with Mr Christian Macutkiewicz was brilliant throughout - from assessment and explanation to surgery and follow-up. I had minimal pain post-op and rapidly began to feel better than I had done for 2 or 3 years.
