Dr Faisal Ali

I found Dr Ali to be very professional and polite. He was very thorough in his examination and he made me feel at ease. I thought I was just going for an initial assessment but had the treatment options offered to me there and then and the procedure was done with the appointment time. Most satisfying and a very positive and appreciated service was provided.

In July 2020 I had my left hip replaced by Dr.Faisal using the Superpath technique and after 2 nights in hospital I quickly recovered and was walking without aids and driving within 2 weeks. In January 2022 I had my other hip replaced using the Superpath technique by Dr Faisal once more. He had noted that my other hip would need doing in the future because of wear at my first consultation .This time I only had one night in hospital and was walking and driving after a similar length of time to my first hip. After 7 weeks I am back to regular gym trips, cycle rides and regularly walking over 10000 steps a day. I hope to return to skiing this coming winter as I am pain free and recovering my leg strength and my flexibility is improving week by week. I highly recommend Doctor Faisal and the staff at the Meridan and Nuffield hospitals(I had one done in each)and all the nurses for their care and also the Physiotherapy teams for helping my recovery with their exercise plans and aftercare. If you are struggling with hip pain and have led an active lifestyle which has become restricted because of pain I would recommend the operation as a way of regaining as much ofyour previous lifestyle as possible.

Would highly recommend Dr Faisal. He is an empathatic, clear and extremely patient doctor despite all the questions I was bombarding him with when I first met him! I have seen him twice now - the first time was during lockdown (via video call) for my dad who had been struggling with a bout of eczema on his leg. The GP recommended potions hadn't worked so decided to make a private appointment with Dr Faisal who suggested an alternative course of treatment. And it worked! I then contacted Dr Faisal this year regarding a suspicious mole on my foot and he explained the pros and cons concerning next steps to make it easier for me to decide as what to do. I chose to have it removed and then followed his clear written instructions to tend to the wound thereafter which healed well. I am extremely pleased and grateful for his expertise and kindness and happy that I know a great dermatologist. Please do go and see him for your dermatology issues.

I was referred to Dr Ali during the pandemic when I experienced a serious facial skin problem. He listened to everything I said about how I had seen 3 other dermatologists and that they had been unable to prescribe a medication that clears the condition effectively. He reviewed the photos I sent and suggested I tried a different medication. He fully explained the possible risks associated with taking Neoral but reassured me that he would be closely monitoring me with regular blood tests and that we would talk often to ensure that I was comfortable increasing the dosage if necessary. I found his communication of what I might expect but what he hoped would be the outcome extremely helpful. He has maintained regular communication with me throughout the process and my skin is now completely clear. I am no longer on the medication but I would have no hesitation in contacting him again should I have another skin episode. His honesty that this might not be the solution combined with his ability to make me feel that he knew what he was talking about was very important. An ability to listen to his patient sympathetically, to communicate what he hoped would happen with the medication very clearly and his commitment to support his patients throughout is not something I have come across before and cannot praise highly enough. Surely this is what all patients want whatever their health issue.

Dr Ali is a great listener and is very thorough and clear with his explanations about your treatment. I am comfortable in asking questions as he is friendly and approachable. My treatment plan with Dr Ali has worked the best in comparison to other treatments from other dermatologists, which is evident by the lack of side effects and improvement of my acne.

Doctor was fantastic, couldn't recommend him enough. Was understanding and answered any questions I had which put me at ease. Talked me through the procedure and made sure I was comfortable throughout which was great as I suffer from anxiety.

Dr Faisal Ali was excellent .He explained to me the procedure he was going to carry out in great detail.He was very polite and also very caring. The service was excellent. Dr Faisal Ali was fantastic, so reassuring and helpful. I felt comfortable and confident throughout my whole procedure after originally feeling so nervous about having my cyst removed in such a tricky place on my head. Right on my hair line. However he has managed to do the procedure without barely having to take away any of my hair. I am really happy with the results. Thank you for looking after me so well.

Just over a year ago, (sorry for delay) Dr Ali performed surgery on several BCCs on my nose. I had 4 operations in the day extracting more cancer cells and Dr Ali was patient, caring and explained each step, he could see how worried I was each time and put me at ease. When it came to the reconstructive surgery, Dr Ali listened to my concerns over the scaring and he spent time considering options and discussing these with me, and before starting discussed this with a colleague as well. Dr Ali tried removing skin from a non-normal position in order to leave me with minimal scaring. The end result was wonderful, and although I have a slight swell on one side of my nose, most people cannot see a scar or know that I have had an operation. Dr Ali ensured that the scar followed the line of my nose and fold in the join to the face. I found Dr Ali to be a wonderful surgeon who listened to patient concerns and worries and considered how to ensure the patent was happy. The procedure took longer by by removing skin from my nose bridge rather than my cheek, and it meant his work finished later, but I felt Dr Ali was more concerned over how I felt and that he could provide me the least scaring possible, that he really didn't mind working late to ensure that. I hope that if I am unlucky enough to need further BCCs removed that I am lucky enough to have Dr Ali as my surgeon. Dr Ali - many many thanks from a very happy patient. Sue
