I was very apprehensive before my operation but Mr Ramsay went to great lengths to put me at ease by explaining my procedure, answering my endless questions with clarity and kindness and making sure my husband and myself were fully informed at all times. He was easy to talk to, his explanations always clear and concise, and he maintained a confident and cheerful manner at all times. I knew I was in the best hands. The team on Women's Health Ward are an example of the NHS at its best; their skills, knowledge and kindness were truly amazing. Thank you Mr Ramsay and your wonderful team.

This has been my only experience of major surgery. From my first appointment, Mr Ramsay gave very clear explanations of my condition and reasons for his recommended treatment. He listened to all of my questions and gave very straightforward responses. At no time did I feel I'd asked anything 'silly' or unnecessary, including post-op. I was particularly impressed at how often he came onto the ward afterwards to check on my progress: 3 times on the first day and once before I went home on the second. I felt involved in decisions at all points of care, as did my husband who attended appointments with me. My ward-mates not being treated by him commented on his level of care and friendliness. I'm grateful to Mr Ramsay for the confidence he inspired in me to trust his skills and judgement, for his being down-to-earth and approachable and for his sense of humour. He treated me as a person, most definitely not as a number on a list. I suspect he loves his job. PCH should hang on to him! Many, many thanks.

I initially attended another hospital, however decided not to proceed as I did not feel at all confident in their abilities. I was then referred to the wonderful Mr Bruce Ramsay at Peterborough City Hospital. From the first time I met Mr Ramsay he put my mind at rest. I immediately had confidence in him, he explaining in detail what he intended to do to remove a huge 30cm fibroid which I had put up with for ten years. Mr Ramsay operated on me on the 4th April by way of an abdominal hysterectomy. He came to see me on the ward every day during my four day stay in hospital. His smiling face and bubbly, humours personality lighting up the ward. I would like to thank him and his team for the wonderful care I received. Peterborough City Hospital was immaculately clean, wonderful caring staff who were very attentive, and even the food was very good !! Thank you again Mr Ramsay.
